Roll & Rock Sushi and Hibachi — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

What happened to you? This use to be mine and my husband’s favorite place to get sushi. It was once amazing with a variety of different options. We hadn’t eaten here in a few months but thought we go for lunch. The menu was condensed substantially. We stayed though thinking they had to reduce the menu due to the economy. We were both wrong. We got three rolls and a poke bowl. There was hardly any fish in the rolls. They all looked sad and deflated. My husband got the rainbow roll and it was drenched in sauce. I got the Alaska roll, and the skin was still present on the salmon. I’m not a sushi expert but I feel like leaving the fish skin on salmon and placing it in the roll is a huge no no. Also, there was something off about the rice. Overcooked yet undercooked. A very weird consistency, and also way too much of it in comparison to the fish. The service was nice, but the food was too disappointing to give that a good review. Must be under new management because it is not the place we use to know and love. I loved this place so much! I originally went here because of the good reviews and I was impressed! It's a business owned by the man that was working when we went in (I could tell from his pictures on the wall, which were amazing btw you could see how happy he is in them) and the service he gave was great! It was evident that he really cared about how his customers were enjoying their meal and that he loved his business. It really made my day to see his photos and see his happiness in his restaurant! Amazing custom service and amazing food. I'm not from the area so I can't go often but next time I drive through OKC I will be making a stop here! The food was well priced and a large serving. I fully expected to need seconds when we got there but then he brought out my single sushi roll and I could barely finish it. I was so full but I made myself eat the rest anyway because it tasted so good I couldn't stop! Also the miso soup wasn't just a bunch of plain liquid.
