This is a pretty hard review to make. On one hand, this is some of the best food I've had in a long time. The prices are reasonable, and the presentation of the food is top notch.
That said, the atmosphere is immensely awkward and the service was pretty awkward too. It felt like you had to go out of your way to get service for even the simplest of things, like needing a refill. The staff seemed more interested in talking to each other than they were in actually being inviting. And it wasn't as though the place was busy either, as when we went, there was only two other tables in the whole place.
The restaurant was clean, and it seemed to be very inviting on first glance. It is located in a bit of an odd area, with flashing neon green LEDs next door. The outside makes the entire area look a tad seedy, but it was worth it as a one off. I don't feel like I will be back, which is a pity because the food was so amazing. The negatives seem to just outweigh the positives on this one.
If you want a private place to go, this will be stellar, as it's rarely busy and there's not much noise in the place. If you want a warm and friendly atmosphere when you go out for ramen, probably try somewhere else,...
Read moreFirstly I am a very understanding person when it comes to the food industry since I have worked as a server for years. I came into Samurai due to high ratings and low prices. There were 4 tables seated (out of about 14), the hostess was very polite and the place was beautiful. The reason for my 1 star rating was due to the unorganization of this place. With only 5 tables sat they were running around and apologizing for how busy it was. I saw the frustration in most of the customers (waiting on food, needing refills or needing to pay). My food took 38 min to come out, they forgot about our appetizer and worst of all is that the sushi rolls are as small as about a quarter in circumference and 1/2-3/4 of an inch thickness. We ordered 4 rolls due to how hungry my girlfriend and I were and wanted to order more but didn't want to wait another 30 min. Yes the rolls are $5-$12 but I think the average person would need about 5 rolls to be satisfied. Again staff was very friendly and place was very nice but the food portions and wait time is ridiculous. I do not recommend this place to anyone and I personally will not be giving it...
Read moreI ordered a simple Philidelphia Roll to test their food quality. Sushi is either done right or is a disaster, no in-between. Their sushi was fresh and absolutely delicious! Better yet, they added a pair of traditional wooden chopsticks to the delivery order with no extra charge. The food was placed in a flat light aluminum square dish with a clear plastic top so you can see what is inside. Plus a generous portion of wasabe! The soy sauce was in two packets, but they did provide a clear plastic cup to put the soy sauce in for proper dipping. All I can say is for the low price of a single roll, I got more than I expected. Well done! I am now a new regular customer of theirs and I couldn't be happier.
Upon Edit: 6/12/25 - I just want to thank everyone at Samurai Sushi for providing great food! I am addicted to your Philly Roll and because I can't walk anymore and am confined to a wheelchair, I depend on DoorDash to deliver the meal. Still good stuff I can't go without. Nicely done from a dedicated Sushi lover who knows when the food is good and when its bad. Your food is neither. It's...
