First time eating here. My son suggested this place near me as he had a good experience at the S. Meridian location. Table of 5. My son and I each ordered the De Loeras Plates (3 ribs, beef fajitas, shrimp cooked fajita style. Grandson ordered Tacos al carbon (fajita meat tacos), his girlfriend the Cameron Empanizado (fried shrimp) and son's girlfriend had Chile Verde Burrito (fajita meat). Chips and salsa, queso dip and marinated carrot, onion, jalapeños. The food came out within 7 minutes so I doubted how the fajita meat was freshly prepared. I'll start with the fried shrimp they were overcooked and dry. The fajita meat which was are part of everyone elses platters tasted off, was NOT freshly cooked and we all tasted a refrigerated taste. The pork ribs were still refrigerator cold and not thoroughly heated. The shrimp fajita style was on the bottom of the sizzle platter which was not sizzling hot like every fajita platter I've had in my life. The shrimp were very small, one size up from salad shrimp. The rice was also cold and had the refrigerated taste. The refried beans were okay. The pico de gallo was not fresh, the tomatoes were mushy, onions not crisp. None of us could eat our food other than the fried shrimp platter. As the whole order was just a complete disappointment I chose not to say anything even though my son wanted too. Asked for the check and the waitress brought it with a bunch of to go containers that we did not ask for. I told her we didn't need them and I know she realized we didn't like the food. Unfortunately I won't be back and I wish them well and hope they...
Read moreWe came here the 29th for dinner (our sons choice for his 10th birthday dinner) We arrived it wasn’t busy at all - we were immediately sat. The usual table set up came out yada yada. It began to get busy, tables around us filled, tables around us had received their meals ordered, meanwhile our order hadn’t been taken. They came back about 35-40 mins later asking if we were ready to order. We did - super simple 4 kids meals for our kids and then my husband and I were sharing a plate (for perspective on how small our order was) It literally took almost another hour, the waiter came to the table several times saying it’s almost done, your ticket will be discounted for how long it’s taking... no big deal - But by the time the food came out, my 2 yr old twins were screaming because 1) they are hungry, 2) they’ve been in high chairs foe nearly 2 hours and 3) it’s late - The food came out, I asked for to go boxes because we had to leave. That took another 10 mins to happen... but he drops the check off with the boxes (of course no discount as mentioned but that’s whatever we just needed to leave). We get back home, my husband starts to eat - only to have his crown chip - he opens the quesadilla only to find that there are toothpicks in it! So not only did this meal cost a ridiculous amount of time, money it’s also now costing additional time and money having to go to the dentist to...
Read moreIt will be a while before this San Marcos gets my business again which is sad because we live near by. Seems like this store has been going down hill for a while but tonight was the worst. We got seated in the very back of the restaurant and I guess turned invisible. No one ever came. All the tables around us that got seated after us were getting waited on. We asked two waitresses if they were our server and they looked at us like they didn’t understand what we were saying. We finally waived someone down that was standing by the kitchen and he and the other servers stood at our table and argued about who’s table we were. Finally he said I guess I’ll take your order. He took our drink order, brought the drinks and then left as we were hollering at him that we were ready to order. We had our one year old grand daughter with us and she was hungry. We waited and waited and he never came back until we had to go get him. Finally got our food and we were never checked on again. Empty drinks, empty salsa, empty chips. It was absolutely atrocious. I finally called the manager over and told him about our experience and even he was totally indifferent. Don’t go to the San Marcos at 122nd and Rockwell if you want to have a nice enjoyable meal. You won’t...
