McDonald's — Restaurant in Okoboji

Went to pick up some food on Sunday 11/12/23 because my son wanted McDonald’s (I don’t usually eat there and only go for him).

For a restaurant in Okoboji it could use some serious improvements. One of the windows had a hole covered in duct tape that could be easily mistaken for a bullet hole (maybe it was).

I haven’t had any issues with this establishment before, but it appeared the evenings dinner rush was an issue for the employees .

First thing I noticed was a woman on the staff with facial piercings leering at me as I casually walked to the bathroom after ordering from the kiosk. When I came back to get my drink cups I was ignored until I finally reached out to someone who couldn’t avoid me.

After receiving our food I noticed my burgers patty was falling apart, missing a few toppings, and looked like a hastily made mess. My sons wasn’t even properly cooked (pink in the middle).

They made us new food, but weren’t very friendly about it.

I’ve worked in the service industry and understand things can be hectic in a rush (especially if you’re short staffed), but being completely unfriendly, unapproachable, and serving customers pink burgers isn’t acceptable.

Hopefully my son finally learned that McDonald’s isn’t worth it anymore. There’s no shortage of places to get a hamburger in Okoboji, so between the price and the quality, you’re better off just going to a regular restaurant for a burger and fries. I think he has finally realized this because he threw out his food after a few bites (which he never does).

The lack of response from any management or franchisee on even one of these negative reviews...

Long line in drive through so we went inside. Having to use the kiosk was a waste of time has I was paying with cash. That ment I had to wait for an attendant to be able to come to the register. They manager came up to handle the transaction. He made the comment that he was having to do the job of 4 people. After taking care of me he went to the door and made the comment that he was checking to see if the concert was over. It became real busy quickly! By the time I placed our order and we received our order was a good 30 mins. They forgot our 2 drinks, the fries in one box was in upside down and cold, the box of chicken nuggets was not closed properly, so when I went to pick it out of the bag they spilled out. My son's fries where Also cold!

There was a group of "young men" ( boys!) using language nit appropriate to use in a family establishment. I was ready to say something to them when they call our number. More than likely, there was too much noise in the lobby and too busy in the kitchen for the manager too hear. However, knowing that there was a concert that night he should have had extra staff to...

The service here is horrible. I went here 2 times while visiting. The first time, one of their employees was in the parking lot yelling at customers. 2 of the other employees had to go outside to talk to him to get him to stop. The second time, the employees at the first window didn’t know we had 2 separate orders. After we paid for the first order, she closed the window and didn’t open it back up for a long time while we clearly were sitting there waiting for her. When she opened the window we said we had a second order. She asked what it was. We said that it was a number 3. Then she asked what the number 3 is and said she didn’t know because she doesn’t work. At the second window, they handed us both orders but said they were waiting on 1 burrito. While we waited, we noticed they forgot a hash brown. We told them and then the worker just turned around and got the hash brown and burrito and just handed us the bag. Never apologized or said anything at all. After we got down the road and started to eat, we noticed one of the sandwiches was wrong. We got a mcgriddle (which was on the receipt) but they had given...
