it's really sad because the food that we got here was actually good, the menu has lots of options. After a 40 minute wait for a table on a Friday night (they don't do call aheads or reservations) The awful waitress couldn't even tell us what beers they had on tap, and wouldn't go look so I had to get up and walk to the bar to find out. It took 5 minutes just to get our drink order and she still had it wrong. For dinner we ordered the "fry me to the moon" which were great fries. my wife got the summer chicken salad and our meals came with bread. The salad and bread were amazing. we then waiting for an hour for our food, our waitress telling us "just a few more minutes" we were told the computers went down in the kitchen, but all the tables around us were getting our food. There were 4 adults and 2 kids in our party. All of the food came out cold except the kids. I then asked to speak with the manager who told us she would give us free desert and warm our food back up. Im not the kind of person who lets them take our food back out of our sight to do god knows what. We asked for boxes, notified the manager that we would not be paying for the cold meals. The waitress brought out our checks and they were wrong. they had the appetizer on our friends check and the waitress couldn't understand why this was wrong. I had asked the manager for another box and she never returned, so I had to have them get her again. after the check was finally correct we weren't even given a pen to sign with. my husband had to walk around the restaurant to find a waitress with a pen. What a disaster!! we were given coupons for free meals and gave the place another shot, went again and being told a 15-20 minute wait, we waited 30 minutes. (there is not adequate seating for that long of a wait, so you have to go back to your car) fortunately the waitress was nice this time, the food was great and not cold. unfortunately we were still charged incorrectly. the second time didn't completely change my mind about the place, but I liked the salad so much I think we will order take out...
Read moreBack once again for another fabulous experience here at 54th Street Grill. This time I went with a large bowl of potato soup to keep it under $7.
I was not at all disappointed with the result! I have not had anything bad here yet as you can see by the continuation of the review below. I just keep updating it when I come back. This is my 12-year-old's favorite place to come eat!
Before this... Had the tuna Salad, which is an amazing salad with a lightly brazed and sliced chunk of fairly raw Tuna in top of your salad. The sauce is so tasty and I never would have ordered it if I hadn't asked the waitress what her favorite was. I will be ordering it again!
Next visit... Had Andrea for our server today, she did a great job! Very friendly and on top of things. She recommended the chicken sandwich that I had and it was excellent!
Kids meals here are the absolute bomb! The portion size is crazy big, and it comes with a drink as well as a dessert. The one my daughter got is pictured, it is the ice cream for dessert and the alfredo pasta with mashed potatoes.
Very impressed by the value of the kids meals here. My meal was excellent, and I took a picture of the meal at the table next to mine as well because the ribs look fantastic! If you haven't been by for a meal here, you should totally give it a chance.
Next visit, everyone still loves it here. Friendly staff and great food. More...
Read moreI arrived for my 70th Birthday get together with siblings, and initially told them I needed a table for 5 or 6. They put my son and I in a booth, but, oh well, it looked large enough. Then a sister arrived and said we were actually having 7 for dinner, so I told the greeter. Others arrived, and we were shocked it took a huddle of 3 employess 5-10 minutes to figure out seating for seven, like this never occurs. Ok, no problem. One of my sisters ordered 2 appetizers for us, one of which was chicken wings. Everyone agreed that they were tough to chew, likely overcooked. When I nicely mentioned this to the waitress, her reply was, " Yea, sometimes they are ", which I didn't expect. I expected and answer offering more that were more palatable, or a different appetizer without additional cost. All else was just OK; My Country Fried Steak was a little tough, and lukewarm, and my Cheddar biscuit was cold. The broccoli and fries were fine. I'm mainly writing this due to the difficulty finding seating, but even more so for the answer from the waitress about the tough wings. I had just remembered liking the place from a few years back, and also don't remember prices so high, but that is to be expected everywhere, especially when it had...
