The good: Check-in was easy. Front desk clerk understood my needs and assigned me a quiet room... sort of. The acoustics in the lobby echo down the hall and the ice machine is incredibly loud. Also there always seem to be a bunch of Indian guys just hanging out in the lobby (both times I was here).
The not good: The layout of the parking lot and entrances makes it difficult for a disabled person to get bags out of the car and into the room. I was given a room near the furthest door that has stairs. He suggested I drive my car back to the front again to unload, and then park in the back when I'm done. There's NO parking by the front.
The room was freezing when I walked in -- the A/C was on even though it's winter and 40 degrees outside. Crazy.
The freezer in the mini-fridge has so much caked-on ice that you can't put anything in it.
The grass outside is strangely deep so my dog can't go to the bathroom.
I'm a Wyndham Diamond member and asked about the goodie bag I'm supposed to get, i.e. bottled water and some sort of snack. I was told they don't do that at this La Quinta. Guess my loyalty to the brand means nothing.
I went to get some coffee in the lobby. There were NO mini-creamers. Only the pumps with sugary fake cream. I asked and was told they don't have regular creamers. Then the guy offered milk for my coffee, but instead of bringing the milk to me, he took my coffee and returned with it supposedly having milk. The amount of foam and bubbles makes me unwilling to drink it. Just for health code reasons alone, he shouldn't have handled my drink. It went into the sink.
The room heater -- if it's on 67, it blows cold. If it's on 68, it blows so hot that you can tell there was a smoker in the room.
I've given this location two chances. The breakfast is meh. The beds are comfortable. But it's SO far off the beaten path, there's nothing nearby, and it's almost 30 minutes from...
Read moreGreat location, just off our route. Building is lit with green accent lights, and sits back in a light industrial park with no road noise. The lobby smelled fresh and clean, like lillies. Luggage carts and elevator made transport of suitcases a breeze. We had a quiet, pet free room with a comfy bed, thick towels, & a thin pillow my neck can actually accommodate! ( There were 6 pillows of varying types to choose from.) Room and bath were well equipped, very clean & up to date. Tub/Shower was immediately hot, with a great pulsating shower head & strong water pressure. Felt great after a long day of driving. Accommodations included a mini fridge, microwave, large flat screen tv, wifi, charging stations, desk and love seat, along with a closet and dresser drawers. Air, heat, & fan are controlled within the room, and worked efficiently. Parking was ample, very well lit, clean & felt secure. Hotel is pet friendly, but I never heard one bark or meow. ( I request a no-pet room due to allergies.) Entire hotel is smoke free. Indoor pool is open till 10pm, & a well appointed exercise room is available with room key. Breakfast was an ample buffet serving pancakes, waffles ( even sugar free syrup), scrambled eggs, link sausages, tater tots, biscuits and gravy, apples and mandarin oranges, fruited yogurts, bagels with cream cheese, mini muffins and breads, PB & J, oatmeal and cold cereal, milk, fruit juices, tea, fresh coffee and flavored creamers (coffee available 24/7). The friendly attendant kept things replenished and clean. This is the 2nd time we’ve used La Quinta Inn, and have been well served on each visit. An excellent value all around. The on-site hot breakfast buffet allows us to get back on the road sooner, and probably costs the equivalent or less than if we ordered in a restaurant. This will be a favored stop when we drive west. La Quinta Inn has won our loyalty. Don’t hesitate...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible night filled with noise fire alarms and flashing strobe lights in room entire night and zero zero zero compassion or compensation from rude and nasty staff. After 12-hour day of driving we are looking forward to an evening of sleep before our next leg of our trip however that was not to be the case right as we started go to bed we noticed a loud howling noise in the room and thought there was a storm there and when I went to the window to see it was cracked completely across and just taped up so the wind was howling through it then about 2:30 in the morning the fire alarm went off the fire department responded rapidly and we were back in our rooms by 3:00 but the hotel could not shut off the strobe flashing alarm lights in any of the rooms all night long my puppy with me was freaked out and we got no sleep at all as did most of the other guests... I've been approached the lady working the desk in the morning and asked what type of compensation they were going to be offering for this ridiculous situation and she screamed at me it wasn't her fault and left the desk I had not raised my voice I had not asked for anything I had done nothing and instead I was made to feel like it was my fault that their hotel was crap. Then after all that I went out in the morning to leave and my vehicle which was parked in an open spot next to other vehicles somebody had crawled under it and unzipped my cover to my electric bikes and attempted to steal them I would highly recommend nobody in their right mind to stay...
