3 stars because our orders were correct, delicious, and I’ve had good previous experiences as this location.
Sadly, last Saturday was not one of those experiences. I workout at a gym just down the road, so every Saturday, a small group (maybe 4-6) of us will often walk over after our class to grab a smoothie. This past Saturday, nearly 15 members wanted to join! When we walked into the Smoothie King, there were just 2 workers, one lady in the back working the drive thru, the other up front. Even with her mask on, we could all see the scowl and look of distain on the young lady’s face as our larger than normal group walked in. I’ve worked food service before, so I understand when an large group unexpectedly walks in - but you still have a duty to be courteous. She took our orders no problem, though sadly, since she was the only one working up front, she had to take all 15 orders first before a smoothie was made. Then, there was almost no sense of urgency in making the smoothies. Just so slow… We were there for almost an hour, and her countenance didn’t improve the entire time, even though we all tried to be kind to her. At one point, she told us to place a call-ahead order next time (mind you, we never know who wants to go with to Smoothie King until our workouts are done and we decide to walk over).
It was a very unfortunate experience. Overall love the place and will return! But hopefully the customer service...
Read moreThis location needs help. I live in a tiny town so anytime I come to the city I HAVE TO GO to Smoothie King. I love it so much!!! When I’m headed out of town this one is the closest but I won’t be coming here anymore. Every time I come here there is an issue. For example, one time I got the Spinach Pineapple like normal. He handed it to me and it’s YELLOW. I said, “it’s supposed to be green? Maybe you forgot the spinach?” A different boy remade it for me thank goodness. The last time I went, I got the SAME order. He handed it out the window and I can literally SEE the carrots. I mentioned it to him. He said “that’s because there’s carrots in it.” I said it’s a smoooothie, it’s supposed to be smooth. Otherwise it would be called a “chunky”. The last boy that remade the previous drink, remade this one for me too. Today I go, I get a Strawberry Gladiator with banana and peanut butter. WTF. Doesn’t even have a taste???? How??? I just said what ever and left. Wasted $10….. I’m a pretty easy going person and easy to get along with but this store just gets it wrong, Every....
Read moreI wouldn't say that the smoothies were bad, but if you use fruits (which have a lot of sugar to begin with) I don't think you should add extra sugar into the smoothie as well.
The other thing is to teach employees about Matcha Green Tea. The Matcha (the powder) does not like air, does not like heat, and does not like light. If opened it should always be put back in the fridge or if not used for a while, in the freezer. The smoothie I got with Matcha was completely overpowered by the added strawberries and Matcha was not right (I heard one employee argue with another about leaving the matcha out). I'm personally not going back here, but hopefully the employees can learn how to act in front of customers and how to take care of their...
