Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Old Bridge

First let me start by saying that I love Rita's Italian Ice, but I would not come back to this location. I rate Rita's custard 5 stars! It's delicious! Unfortunately, this location only carries the flavors vanilla and chocolate only which is odd since the one in Parlin carries 8 different custard flavors. The best ones are cake batter, cheesecake, and banana all which you can find at Rita's in Parlin. This location doesn't even carry all the various toppings that the Parlin carries either. Another thing that annoyed me is they posted all these billboard signs about the new Brookie dough flavor. When it was my time to order I asked for the Brookie dough flavor, and I was told they don't carry that flavor! So why did they even put out the billboard of the new Brookie flavor if they don't carry it? I ended up ordering a marshmallow peanut butter gelati with vanilla custard which was very good, but it's not what I really wanted to order. I personally wouldn't come back to this location again because I'd rather go to the location in Parlin or another location that carries all the delicious custard flavors that Rita's puts out not just chocolate...

Rita’s is a charming little walk-up spot nestled at the front of a strip mall, easy to find with plenty of convenient parking. On a warm day, it’s the perfect place to cool off. We stopped by during their free Italian ice promotion and tried the dragon fruit flavor. I was genuinely surprised by how refreshing and flavorful it was, especially for a sugar-free option. It had a vibrant, tropical taste that felt like a mini escape in a cup. I also sampled the orange flavor, which didn’t quite hit the mark for me, but my boyfriend’s sister loved it.So it really comes down to personal preference. The real highlight for me was the custard,rich, creamy, and indulgent. Each bite melted in my mouth like velvet. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall pleasant experience.
