I sat in a train for 7 hours when visiting from DC and before I even got on the train I made sure we had reservations. I've come to love this place. The food is amazing, at excellent prices. The garlic bread and alioli they put on the tables is worth it in and of itself. Their lobster croissant is a hefty portion of lobster, and always fresh and delicious, same goes for their lobster fondue..
And its not just the Lobster, their steaks are excellent, Beef, Tuna, Swordfish, and Chilean Sea Bass (although I think that last one is a special), their scallops, bangin shrimp, there's too much to say. You have to roll me out of the restaurant every time! And they have some amazing sauces for all of those! If you have kids or are more in the mood for pub fare, their burgers are excellent.
The owner is absolutely wonderful and does whatever she can to accommodate. The power even went out last time because something happened to the lines out by the road, and so we had a lovely candle light dinner for a few minutes before her husband showed up to fire up their generator that powers the whole place (not just the freezers! we've even gone here after hurricanes because they were the only ones with power)
Can't say enough...
Read moreToday we enjoyed our first meal at this gem of a restaurant. Nancy, the owner, epitomizes the gracious and enthused host, and we thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated her guidance with menu selection, although I doubt there could have been a disappointing choice. After a coconut shrimp appetizer, my husband enjoyed the sole Milanese and I the chicken Florentine. While I almost never eat dessert, I understood that they were home made and unusual, and indeed they were! My husband had a coconut tart which reminded him of one he had enjoyed and longed for from his time in Thailand. I enjoyed the many berry crumble, served warm with ice cream. They were scrumptious!
If there is one thing I could change about this restaurant, it would be the interior, which is painted in mostly brown and mauve which I found dated the place and was a bit depressing. But I am an interior designer, and can't help but be influenced by my...
Read moreHad lunch today, there was only one table and 2 people at the bar. The outside tent was empty. Waitress seem flustered, brought me a very yellow Margarita that tasted terrible and sent it back. Asked for a house made Bloody Mary instead, and she used the mix anyway and was too salty to finish. The raw oysters were small, but good. The petite order of broiled scallops were good. The caption at the top of the menu I felt was misleading as it stated all entrees were served with a house salad. When I asked about the salad, the waitress stated they only come with the regular entree. I sat at the first seat next to the door and there was dried food splashed all over the wall my table was against which I noticed while eating. Will not be visiting again. Nothing here is worth the trip...
