Kung Fu Tea — Restaurant in Olney

I find this a tough review as I know some people haven't liked the service in this location.

The crispy chicken sandwich was amazing! Perfectly cooked tender and real (not formed) chicken with a delicious crunchy coating and 2 pickles on a fresh bun. The spiral fries were large and a decent serving. I wasn't crazy about them, but I haven't been much of a French fry person lately, but my husband liked them. I had the black tea with Boba in it...my first. I found it tasty (but a little too much of the Boba).

Now... I found the staff to be nice but I had an easy question, and it seemed one wasn't sure how to answer.

It was quite a wait for the food but it was so fresh when I got it, I can't complain. I just know now it's not fast food.

It seemed I got my food before a father and his two or three kids... but I'm guessing it's because my order was for one.

The atmosphere is simple it's probably more of a take out place. It is kid friendly as they have children's games on the few tables that are there, which is nice.

The staff said they've been open for about two months, so I'm going to go back and see how it is. I just have to get that chicken sandwich again... or maybe try...

I wish I could give this location zero stars. My family and I came back to give it another try. Horrible customer service yet again. People who ordered after us were given their drinks and for some reason our drinks stayed behind the counter. We tried to get the employees attention to give us our drinks that we paid for and ignored. Finally one person heard us and was still hesitant to give us our drinks. I don’t understand it.

High school students manage this location so please be mindful of that. They are young and don’t know how to communicate. I placed an order for 4 drinks, got 3 and I asked for the last one. The girl turned around and kept working. I asked another employee for the last drink because it was on the counter. He was kind enough to inform me it was made incorrectly and they were making another. Not sure why the girl couldn’t just say that instead of ignoring me. Second time here and the first time wasn’t good either. Drinks taste funny, I think I’ll continue going to the location in Laurel...

My kids have been loyal, regular customers at Kung Fu Tea, but this experience was truly disappointing. When we placed our order, the staff member had earbuds in and wasn’t paying attention. We asked for 30% sugar, but the drinks were made with 100%. After just one sip, I knew something was wrong and went back to ask for a remake.

What made this worse was how it was handled. Instead of apologizing and correcting the mistake, the two employees looked at each other, laughed, and simply put a new cover on the same drink before handing it back with a smirk. That is disrespectful, unprofessional, and unacceptable.

Mistakes can happen anywhere, but the real measure of customer service is how staff respond. A simple apology and a proper remake would have fixed the situation. Instead, we left feeling disrespected, which is especially disappointing given how often my kids come here. I hope management takes this seriously and trains staff to treat customers...
