I really love the idea of this, and I loved my first visit! Although I went in for my second visit and this time it was all adults hanging out with the cats, and I was surprised to see all the adults picking up the cats? Last time I went (it was mostly kids) they were really strict about not picking up the cats.
I pointed this out to the employees, they were really nice about it at first, sent someone in to "watch" the adults. Then as soon as they left, people were back to picking up the kittens (who all had recent surgery sutures). I ended up heading out of the cat cafe early, talking to the owner, who seemed irritated with me immediately, and went on a rant about how short staffed they are, they can't afford to hire anyone else, that I'm telling her how to run her business and that they're barely making enough money to cover everything. Meanwhile I'm looking at the five employees and a mostly empty cafe (and I wasn't telling her what to do at all). I seriously was just trying to let them know since the cats looked like they just got surgery and the workers told me those are the rules. The owner then said those rules are only for the kids and that none of the cats have been injured yet so it's fine. I'm so happy the area has a cat cafe, but jeez, what a strange...
Read morePawsific Cat Cafe is a wonderful business, that takes adoption-ready kittens and cats from some amazing local rescues and helps them find homes. The cafe itself is very cute, alot of seating in the main dining area, you can order pastries and tasty drinks and enjoy the view into the cat room for no cost. There is cat related art, and goodies made by local artists on sale in the cafe. Or you can pre-book spots in the cat room online in advance, where you have 50 minutes to respectfully play with and enjoy the kittens. The cat room cost is $15 per person and currently includes a $5 credit towards a drink. They have you put on disposable booties over your shoes and wash your hands before entering cat room to try to ensure no viruses/things get brought in. Staff is friendly and all cat people. They have already helped so many cats find homes in the short time they have been open, it's a very admirable company. I think room for growth would be having a better system available for adopters to easily see which kittens are available online and how that process works. Also maybe some quiet ambient noise for the cat room. Recommend this place for a coffee date, family day, or just a lunch...
Read moreI was super disappointed when I went in today and asked the barista if there was a vegan option to make my coffee for sweeteners and / or drinks. She apologized and said no aside from having dairy free milk. I had to leave, and I really wanted to support this business. They have vegan cinnamon roles for ten dollars on the steep side in comparison to their other pastries but no vegan coffee drinks? I was willing to pay the price for a cinnamon role but not without coffee. If I was misinformed by staff, can you please let me know so I can come back, or let me know when you plan on getting vegan options for coffee? Thank you. I really wanted to become a regular customer, but with no vegan options for coffee drinks other than the milk, it is impossible for me to have a coffee and hang out with cats like intended. I do not enjoy unsweetened coffee. In oly we have a lot of vegans so please accommodate all your customers. We love animals, so of course we are going to want to hang out with animals, but we have some drink options. Please, if I was misinformed, please let me know what drinks are vegan so I can enjoy your shop and have a better...
