BOLLYWOOD BURRITO AND BOWL — Restaurant in Olympia

Well I was sooo hungry and so So excited to try this place after doing laundry at 9 pm on Christmas Eve ( yes they were open and the girl who is taller and sings , friendly for sure and she’s super nice ! Only good thing here ) and I was told I couldn’t use my 100 bill because of no change in drawer .. ( funny because it was almost closing time, so shouldn’t the till have quite a bit in it ?? I understand it’s a 100, but it’s food and yes it was a real 100 bill lol ) soooo the short girl walks over , very rude and says “ sorry we can’t cause no money “..

So I say “ okay well we only have 100 bills so I’m sorry I can’t buy anything then.”. HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED!! So then I tell the other girl in going to walk to the gas station IN THE COLD ( our car battery freaking died of course ) just to get change so I could eat because I love Indian food so much ! And she said okay sure no problem ! Of course the taller girl was very happy to serve me .

So literally I come back inside at 9:23 and the short girl tells me “ IM SORRY WE ARE CLOSED NOW.”

Wtf ?!? So why wouldn’t they tell me this when I said I was walking to the store which took me five minutes ?! five Minutes to get change TO EAT HERE !?!?? Are you effin kidding me ?!

I literally tell her I thought yall close at 10?! That’s what the sign says ? “ sorry no we are closed . “ Even tho everything is still inside the damn subway looking ripoff buffet bs whatever you call It. wtf ?!?

Wow I’m shocked . Idk what was wrong with her she must not like her job or something . Makes me wonder why recently there’s been a lot of negative reviews .. it’s definitely the service and not of the taller girl ; she was amazing and very friendly ! I could tell she was the one doing all the work.. working.. cleaning .. taking orders .. she’s amazing very sweet I hope she gets a raise and hopefully this business can figure out if they want to serve people correctly or maybe change the hours if you don’t want to work late or get some employees who will.

Very very disappointed I literally wanted to eat here so bad . Now I’m never going to step foot inside again. Maybe but I doubt I will go out of my way to such horrible rude customer service .and a response to all the other “ responses from the owner to the bad reviews “

I really like the butter chicken bowl. I've been here like 2-3 times it's really good that I don't try anything else haha. Samosas are great. I've had the mango and rose lassi too. They're very tasty I highly recommend. I wish they had a larger size for the lassi.

I don't recommend getting the fish bowl. Doesn't come with any sauce with your toppings, so yeah it's dry. But wanted to try it anyway. Probably out of everything this is the last item that should be ordered. I think this is the pescatarian option? In my opinion it needs more to it!

I like the food a lot, but for the 2-3 times I've been here, personally I feel that the customer service needs to improve. I am sure that the ladies, particularly one more than the other, don't mean to come off as rude, but honestly it was off-putting to have her take my order. I'm sure they're lovely as a person and nothing she said was rude. But I just didn't get friendly vibes during my transaction.

Another thing, when we ordered the fish bowl, I had also ordered a butter chicken bowl. The butter chicken bowl came warm. The fish bowl did not. I will say that they did warn me about its taste (the fish) and how it isn't recommended! However our problem with the item is, when we received it, the fish was very cold. Like we thought it wasn't cooked at all, that it could be frozen, and you know if it was frozen (which now we learned, it wasn't), it isn't food safe. And this was our main concern, we're just trying not to get sick. And I apologize to the workers if we were being too impolite or bashful about it, but when we brought it up to you guys, it really didn't feel like you guys understood what our concern was. It did feel like y'all weren't listening or just annoyed overall with us. Which is valid. Maybe we didn't communicate our concerns well or it took US a while to listen. However, my point is, when the next customer is concerned about whether something is raw or cooked, please put more effort to listen and show consideration for their worries. Thank you.

Food: 3/5 Overall the flavor (of mine) was great, however the portion size is pretty small compared to many other places. Especially for the amount you’re getting and quality you’re getting, the price is definitely too high. Either the price needs to drop, or there needs to be more.

We purchased two dishes, 1 platter (15) and 1 bowl (13)

I had the platter and was given a few pieces of corn and a few pieces of lettuce. The pico de gallo was just roughly diced tomatoes and some thin cuts of onion- no lime. I had 5 pieces of chicken in mine and 5 pieces of some pickled banana peppers. My portion wasn’t too bad, just wish it was a little bigger. (You can have 6 toppings)

The other person had the bowl. Super tiny portion, the tikka was too spicy for her, I gave it a try and I agree. They should tell people that the tikka has that spice to it. I’ve had Indian curry before and this isn’t the norm. She had even less meat than me and even less toppings- I’m not sure why she would receive less, the portion size understandably is smaller than mine, but for $13 that’s ridiculous.

Service: 5/5 First time being there, the servers were amazing. They were super nice and patient. No complaints there.

Atmosphere: 3/5 see for yourself.

I recommend trying this place out. Portion size is pretty debatable so I recommend deciding for yourself. I didn’t like the atmosphere there, but I could see this as a quick lunch spot. The flavor of the butter chicken was great, I don’t recommend the tikka, unless you like things spicy- They really should tell people that before ordering.
