So upon arriving… we didn’t know where to go… because there was one door leading to the BBQ Hot Pot & the Chinese garden… had to make sure we went to the right place. From being in a city that doesn’t carry hot pot or KBBQ… I thought we’d have some before heading back home. It was alright… ORIGINALLY, we thought we can get KBBQ. But we were told there not much variety that they were basically more known for the hot pot. So since we were already there.. we decided to give it a shot. Waiter was semi informative? Walked through the options and what not. But then said it aggressively that there will be a 20% charge if the food was not finish. Which I get… they don’t want food to be wasted and it could be hard to get some of the ingredients. We’re told that there is sauce bar, which was good but not great. Their appetizers were cold. Not sure if it was even on a warmer or the warmer was even on. The crabragoons were cold and seemed old.. the potstickers seems like they’ve been sitting there for awhile as well. Also cold.. when everything arrived.. it was good. The hot pot seasoning was good. The veggies was great along with the beef we had and the meat balls. When it came to paying… personally I would have not paid $61 for two ppl. ($27.99 per person.. with $5 tax) it was an experience. After paying.. (if I have cash, I don’t usually tip on card) which I had cash… but from the side view as I was paying.. not even our original waiter… he gave me a look when I had pressed “no tip” I then, put cash on the table and the moment I put it down on the table, he instantly grabbed it and went on his way. In my opinion… I didn’t think they deserved a “tip” we were checked up maybe twice? Refilled our water once? As we seen that they weren’t even busy and was just...
Read moreIt was awful. We went there for bbq. We did not know that bbq was not even popular there. They told us, people go for hotpot there and laughed at us for getting bbq. BBQ was nothing like I saw before, they use coal for bbq and everything burns so fast as this is coal. We just ordered once even though we got all you can eat. We came to know that we cannot get kimchi and everything from the bar even though we are paying same price as hotpot. Did not make sense. We were ordering for the first time and we ordered very less but waiter was literally reminding us 2-3 times that if we do not eat everything, they will charge 20% extra. No one came to our table except for once to refill water that too at the end and no one even asked if we wanted more. At the end I insisted that we wont pay any tip as I did not feel like they deserve it. But two people literally came and stand there asking why no tip? Just housing upon us and made face and gave that paying machine back to us again. Total was 72$ (27.99$ + 5$) for two people and one other person who was vegetarian and ordered from the menu. They just stood there made faces, so we paid 5$. Then one person asked again like $5 for three people? And made face and left. I seriously didi not want to pay tip at all. Not recommending this place. Food was not worth the price and service is minus. And yes, the place is unhygienic...
Read moreCame here for hot pot lunch on a Sunday. We got the hot and spicy and original soup bases. They were not that great. The options for vegetables were ok. The mini bok choi was never stocked full and that's the only thing I really wanted. There were lots of options otherwise. The freshness and quality is a little questionable so I did not try any fish or shrimp that was offered on the buffet line. Traditional ramen, rice, a house noodle and vermicelli style noodles are available. Many sauces/ spices to choose from for additions. This is a vwry different approach of a hot pot setting that I am used to. I prefer things readily available at your table or your server brings it to you. I felt uncomfortable getting it all myself. Overall the taste and quality of the food here for Hope pot isn't my favorite and we will not be returning. We also felt it was very expensive for what...
