My husband ordered a cake on a Friday for a pickup that Sunday, which was my birthday. He ordered a very specific cake because I have allergies that are pretty common in the food industry, like red 40 and MSG. Sunday came along and he left to pick up the cake. Olivia who was working said we had no order ready for us. So he came home very upset thinking he disappointed me. I called the store and asked Olivia for the situation. She was very nice and told me it looked like on her end the cake was ordered over two weeks ago, which was false. I told her to please go through my number with this situation as it is my cake and my husband is too upset to handle it. About twenty minutes after I hung up with Olivia the manager called my husband's phone. She said her name was Faye and my husband handed me the phone. I answered and she asked for him, he said that he's right next to me and that she is on speaker. Faye explained that the cake was there and it was a communication error, because she made the cake and put in the freezer. So she probably didn't leave any info for the next day workers, hence the miscommunication with Olivia. This wasn't an issue, but when she finished I had said "Oh, so this is all a big misunderstanding." Faye cut me off and said "Why can't I just speak to your father?" We explained that I was his wife and it was my cake, she kept her guard up and didn't apologize. I have dwarfism and a higher pitched voice because of it. While she couldn't see me, we told her about her mistake and she still was unapologetic and got an attitude. She actually never even said I am sorry for anything. I left the room because I did not wanna deal with someone who was being ignorant to a disability or a situation they screwed up. My husband went and got the cake, and when we went to cut it the bottom had red velvet sticking to it like the cake plate wasn't cleaned in between cake decorating. We got a vanilla cake with apple pie ice-cream. I am allergic to red velvet, because of the dyes. It makes me pass out, feel queasy, break out in hives, and puke. I got violently sick that night.
I think the staff needs to be talked to about discrimination and cross contamination. I've worked in customer service and I understand rushing and being on the fritz but these two things should be priority. Discrimination to customers or other employees should be a conversation before they even work. If workers have to go over sexual assault at work, discrimination should also be covered so these situations happen less.
Update: They NEVER...

The level of service provided by your staff was unacceptable and unprofessional. Specifically, the staff members displayed rude and discourteous behavior toward customers. Their conduct created an unpleasant and toxic atmosphere within the premises. Furthermore, I perceived the manager's actions and demeanor as discriminatory and indicative of racial bias. The combination of poor service, an uncomfortable environment, and concerning managerial conduct has led me to conclude that this is the worst ice cream shop I have ever patronized in the Omaha area. I am deeply disappointed by this experience and feel compelled to raise these issues with your...
Read moreI have not been here in some time but the prices appear outrageous! I took my son here tonight for dessert and he decided on the strawberry banana smoothie. I thought that since everything else looked so delectable on the menu that the smoothie would be amazing. I paid over $7 for their "large" smoothie. This looked pretty pitiful for a large though. I started second guessing things at that point. My son was then handed a very watered down looking smoothie, I would just call it pale pink juice. We both looked at each other with scepticism. He insisted it smelled good so we left. When we were about home Noah had not touched his drink more than twice. I asked if I could try it and I was immediately met with a horrible taste of rotten banana. The strawberry flavor appeared to be non-existent as well which was surprising since it was colored pink. Overall this was a pretty disappointing first experience for both of us. I also do not see the point in driving all the way back to return the poor product that was served to use. I do not believe in wasting more time on something that failed so hard... My son's face says it all. He was not thrilled with this and did not want to finish the foul...
