I ate here today with a terrible experience. This place is definitely going down hill quickly. Gf and I ate here for lunch and for food options … not impressed at all. To get my first plate I could not due to 80% of everything was gone and what was left was what was burnt on the pan , asked for a steak and waited 20 minutes for a med well steak as the guy running the grill only laid down 5 steaks but had a whole tub full sitting behind him that could of been cooking more. Now let me remind you I’m here at noon on a Sunday and this place was filling up quickly. To make a plate , with options .. it wasn’t going to happen. I asked the manager what was going on and she said I’m not sure and didn’t even check in the back ( kitchen ). I ate what I could and when going back hoping for more food to be out … it was all the same empty pans burning up. Many families and people standing around and not happy just as myself. I said again to manager ( older short lady with short grayish hair ) what’s going on and she said I cannot help you .. okay well then help me and refund me my money cuz for this price and no food I could of spent my money elsewhere. She said no and I should be thankful 😳. For what I ate it tasted terrible even the steak. Looked like breakfast food all over the dining area where you sit to eat and just dirty ( nothing like having my foot slide across the floor from a spilt pile of hash browns dropped ). Served lady was nice and pleasant but you could tell she was definitely doing her job and trying her best to serve everyone sitting and getting them drinks. This was by far the worst experience and terrible food ( hardly any ). We were there for an hour waiting for more food and it didn’t happen. We ended up going to Pepper Jax down the street for literally the same amount of money but actually got what...
Read moreUpdate: this year they had air and we shivered. Again very nice even with alot of new workers. We also found the food delicious. My favorite is the red color cake I think had red jello in it, but it did have cool whip around it. I had 2 pieces as our special time and I would've had a third of my body could handle that much red in it. The cream was working fully and even the slushy machine. Our kids always wanted one and for last 3 years it didn't work, so finally this year it did. I love the swirl and that usually down when we go for ice cream. The lady that cooked the dessert did Awsome. I usually eat more from the other area but I decided do small on the healthy and treat myself to the bread pudding and other desserts I mentioned. Thank you ounce again and you make it hard to go to any other location when you do so well. Next time I think we need explore more, but we say this is our favorite location of golden corral buffet and grill.
Year ago: Every employee was kind and helpful. They were great people!! The food tasted fine. The thing is it was too hot in there, those employees were burning up. They need better cooling so they can do better (they were working hard with not many for staff to what looked like. Favorite dessert bread pudding favorite meat steak (he cooked it exactly way my husband loves it and I enjoyed it with our kids too.) Love the sweet potatoes dish too as a favorite. We talked to few them and asked how they were holding up the heat (all them looked worn out after good bunch of people then when we got there slower. Smiles and doing Thier best.) Price was under...
Read moreUpdate: I originally gave 2 stars and I was asked to give them another try. What a difference!! Salad was fresh and not sitting in water plus much less cross contamination. Other vegetable items were delicious such as mushrooms, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes but the all star for me was the salad bar. What a nice surprise. Iced tea was very watered down but ok.
Previous review: I was really looking forward to our meal because I'm vegetarian and salad bars seem to be dwindling. Unfortunatley, not the fault of the restaurant entirely but there was a lot of cross contamination. Ham pieces in the chickpeas, bacon bits and cheese scattered in almost everything including the salad dressings plus the spring mix was sitting in an inch of water so it was saturated and soggy. Some of the veggies looked great but others looked dirty/old. It was disappointing. The other vegetarian options were decent such as onion rings, tator tots, baked potato, corn, zucchini, broccoli, cauliflower, cheese pizza, etc but I wasn't sure if the bean options were meat/lard free. As for desserts I took a tablespoon of banana pudding and it didn't taste like banana at all so left it. :(
Lastly, the ladies restroom was filthy. Not the restaurants fault but there was puke in one stall and multiple unflushed toilets. The trash was overflowing, countertops were dirty, etc.
Even though it's unlikely I'll return, the place was packed. So clearly a popular choice for...
