This was a stop for us on the Nebraska Passport and I'm so glad we went in. The authenticity of their baked goods is amazing. You won't find a torte like this anywhere. The owner was very friendly and she spoke about the history and preparation of many of their breads and tortes. They also had several different samples of the Tortes available to try. If you purchase a loaf of bread they have an old bread slicer and they will slice the bread for you. There is a beautiful mural on the side of the building that has a scroll that depicts the Lithuanian history in Omaha.

One of my "must stops" when I'm back home in Omaha. The Lithuanian Bakery on 33rd and Q Street has been a pillar of South Omaha for over 3 generations where the Mackavicius family has proudly served the community. Plus, BTW, Their famous Napoleanas Torte is to die for and you don't have to be Lithuanian to enjoy it.

This random pitstop on our drive south did not disappoint. Almost looks like a house-run bakery, the baker was warm to us and told us how their bread kickstarted the business while torte keeps them running. We tried poppy seed kolache which was unique & took torte to go. Parking in little lot outside.

Got 3 pastries (Kruschiki, peach turnover, and a piece of the Torte which the guy working there threw in for free) along w/ a sample of butter cookie (he said “oh look! I found a broken one” and proceeded to break off a cookie 🥺) and loved all of them! The balance of sweetness to butter was just right for the others, and that torte...Oh that torte...I savored every bite. Moreover, I just appreciated the fantastic customer service, which can be rare these days. From the freebies to patiently explaining all the items, the service is a big part of the reason I’ll be making this part of my regular...

Such a sad experience. again. The place is so dirty, I would love for the glass to be cleaned so one could actually see what's in the cold cases. The pastry we purchased was at least 1-2 days old - but was not labeled as such. We found out the hard way when we tried eating it at home. The female employee had dirty clothes on and displayed such poor attitude that, after a few attempts, we choose to no longer trying to engage her in a conversation. I guess she maybe just didn't want to be there. We are always for supporting small businesses and buying local, but this was just too bad of...
