went in for Benson First Friday (5/2/25), it initially took a while to get served our drinks. their $3 margaritas truly are worth $3. on the menu, there is a tongue twister, if said correctly you get free chips and guac. my friend and i practiced while waiting to order. the waitress said that discount could not be honored since the manager was not present. "sorry, the manager is never here". we asked if the nacho appetizer could be ordered without meat, or if it could be subed for beans. she shook her head as if she never had someone ask her that question and she didn't know the answer. she stated that it only comes with meat, it has to come with meat. whatever, i'm pescatarian so i ordered the calamari. it took her 15min to come back and say they were out of calamari. firmly i ask to may for my margarita and leave. she told me that she couldn't take the appetizer off the recipe because the manager wasn't there, with the system pin, to remove the item from our ticket. it seems as if i wanted to pay, i had to pay for the appetizer i DIDNT revive. she took our menus and left. i left a $5 bill. $3 for the margarita and $2 to leave and not deal with it anymore. there was one other server and the restaurant was quickly starting to fill up. another table looked around trying to get a waiters attention for about $5. awful service. for a hispanic restaurant, not one person of color was seen working. the manger being absent on one of the busiest night is the month is ridiculous. as for ambiance, it was clear other patrons weren't completely satisfied with service either. the little led candles on the table was a nice touch ig. not worth dealing with, go to your...

I never post reviews for food. That’s not me. However I do hope the owners see this. I was there last Friday with a group of friends. I order a drink and a water. The server never brought it. She only brought it until someone else mentioned I was waiting for my drinks. Food took forever but when it did come it was good. Missing some items including a side of rice I ordered. Maybe she forgot to put it in because when I brought it up again she’s like I’ll get it and never did. I’m not sure what’s going on with this place but to have 1 server and 1 cook on a Friday especially Benson first Friday is mind blowing. The cook kept ringing the bell but the server was overwhelmed with the customers and making drinks. But also why is each taco coming in on separate plates? My friend ordered his food and it was just piling up to be collected. When we got the bill I asked to make sure the items we did not receive were not on the ticket. I cannot confirm because I didn’t pay the bill. I used to serve at restaurants and the only time there was 1 server was maybe during the week and 2-3 servers on the weekends. To start off the waitress had trouble either listening or understanding, mind you, we were the only ones in the restaurant, with the music very low. Second she is asking a grown old man for an ID to order a beer. Like what? 🤨 Next we ordered a burrito to go and waited over 20 mins for it with no updates on whether they are actually making it or not. Eventually we asked for the check, and she asked us if we still wanted it. 😑 Lastly we pay our check with cash and she still asks if we want our change, 😂 of course we do. Then she went to get our change from the next restaurant and we were short $0.73. We gave her $60 cash and she came back with only $5. Either she kept the change or can't count 🤷.
