First time trying Nepalese food, and I'm very happy I gave it a shot. I ordered the chicken platter that came with some stir fried lo mein noodles, steamed and fried dumplings with a chutney, and a crispy noodle dish with bits of onions, pepper and cilantro. Everything was extremely flavorful and perfectly seasoned, and the price for the quantity and quality of food is hard to beat. They warned me the medium heat was hot, and they were not playing around. Heat aside, I had no issues finishing the whole plate of food, and I think the refreshing mango lassi I had with it kept me from literally combusting. But this didn't feel like it was spicy for the sake of it, the spice contributed a massive amount of flavor and aroma to the warmly spiced food. The chunks of chicken were perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. The only thing that initially put me off about the place was the fact it was an unassuming hole in the wall that for some reason also has slot machines that someone was playing inside of it. But the ambience apart from that is pretty nice and cozy. Everything...
Read moreTali plate was good, portions were just too small. Fyi you have to wait or order ahead since it takes like an hour. Pani puri was great...momo...not at all. I would avoid it. For a Neplai staple dish I was extremely disappointed. They don't make it fresh so you will tell, we had to wait for ours and it was still cold. They seem to make them in batches a head of time and let it sit there until you order it. And the meat used for the pork was questionable...I've eaten from vendors straight from th streets of Delhi and never had any issues. 20 mins after pork ones...yeah..(I prefer chicken momo but they ran out, again prob cause not fresh). This place just opened but needs serious help running it like an actual restaurant. No wait staff or organization or anything resembling an actual system of operation. Omaha has waited decades for the Nepali community to start to flourish with food options...you have to better. If Ugo try the other 2 options, just not the momo. Chow mein looked really good too.2 stars just cause momo is such a staple dish to...
Read moreI tried Nepalese food for the first time at Nepali Restaurant INC.
Started off with a warm, delicious cup of chai tea with sugar, and then ordered the Kukhurako Masu with Basmati rice. It's boneless chicken with garlic, ginger, tomato, and other spices. It's like a perfect blend of Indian and Thai curries, although I would probably associate it more with an Indian curry than anything else (which makes sense based on the region). It was very flavorful, and I would definitely recommend it! You can also pick your spice level from 1 to 10, or get the spices on the side, which I did because I wanted to try it how it comes standard, which is flavorful with spices, but not very hot spicy.
I decided to order the somosas (soup was included) to go, and I'm very glad I did. They're going to be a delicious snack later tonight. I plan to reheat them in my air fryer.
Since the temperature keeps dropping, I plan to go back and try the soups and noodle dishes they have later sometime within the...
