Runza Restaurant — Restaurant in Omaha

I’ve been coming to this location for roughly 30 years. I can remember when Runza was THEE place to go. But within the last 5 years or so, I noticed the service and food had decreased quite a bit from what it used to be. All while the prices continue to go up. I haven’t been in roughly 5 years. So I decided to give this new building a shot…. I was not impressed. The first time I came, the food was cold. The fries were a greasy-over cooked …. The runza hardly had any of what a “Runza” should be. The bread was hard on both ends.

I tried it again tonight to see if maybe my first trip was just a odd occasion. NOPE! The fries, overly salted. The hamburgers waaaay too much salt. So much that half of the first cheeseburger was the only portion eaten out of the 2. The Philly Runza had so much steak seasoning that, again, wasn’t eaten beyond the first couple bites. Let me tell you about the fries. I ordered a large, and what I got looked like a happy meal size. (See pic)

I would’ve contacted the restaurant, but it’s always “Do you want to come back and we’ll remake the food?” Absolutely not. I’ll spend the next 2 days drinking water to get my blood pressure back to normal with all the damn salt and seasoning you put on the food….

So after the owner responded to the review, I intentionally went back and ordered a large fry…. And welp…. Maybe 5 more fries than the last time….. guess I’ll try...

First of all, the meals for 2 combo meals and a kids meal was $25.87 and they wouldn’t break a 100 dollar bill. I decided to cancel my additional Runza kids meal, because A) they were out of RUNZAS temporarily, for the next 20 minutes, until they made more. My husband gave me a few dollars to cover the order, without mine. Not once, did the Runza employee, nor take he makeshift manager apologize for the inconvenience of not being able to make change for my 100, nor for not having the runza. Runza should never be out of runzas. If low, heat some more up. It’s 7:30. You’re going to need more. It’s fast food and people don’t want to wait 20min for you to heat up more! Don’t WAIT UNTIL YOU RUN COMPLETELY OUT!!! It was off peak time. And they could have checked another register for change to break my hundred. Many people in drive thru. You mean to tell me they didn’t have at least (3) 20$ bills, or any 10’s, any 5’s, singles, in that whole place!?! Not buying it! So, I decided to not eat, since I really had no choice, and my family already ordered. I left and got gas and came back. Apparently, they messed up my son’s plain kids cheeseburger too. Now I had change and could have ordered, but I didn’t want to give them my money. Rude and unprofessional workers on 90th and Fort Street Runza. Don’t waste your time or money at this location. Came through the drive thru. Just ordered a crispy chicken salad with ranch. The cashier confronted us with a very annoyed undertoned voice. She said "hang on, loud sigh, we don't have that just these two salad selections". Like she was extremely annoyed with us. I could literally hear her smashing the order touch screen through the speaker. Drive up to get our salad, and she was giving us eye rolls and annoyed mannerisms. Then a nice man popped his head through and asked if we just wanted the chicken, cheese, and ranch on the salad? We answered yes.
