Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Omaha

I've been eating at Schlotsky's for 20+ years, and I didn't even want to eat there tonight because the last 2 times I've been there the food has been AWFUL. However, my son wanted Schlotsky's for dinner tonight so I went. I get to the drive thru at 655pm there was a group of people standing around talking/smoking next to the side door. I sat at the speaker for 4-5 minutes and nobody said anything. By this time there are 2 more cars behind me. Finally half the group of people go back inside and the other half get into a silver vehicle. I assumed someone would come on the speaker now that they had gone inside, but I was WRONG! Myself, and the other cars sat there until a man came out, carrying trash, and yelled over to us that Schlotsky's was closed and they didn't have the money for a sign. Your employees stood there watching us sit at the speaker while they were hanging around outside, yet nobody cared to tell us then.... The fact that everyone there was too lazy to write "sorry we're closed" on a piece of paper and tape it to the speaker is pathetic!! Not sure what time you close now because it says 9pm online and I was there before 7pm. The way you and your employees treated your customers tonight was ridiculous!!!! If I could give 0 stars I would. I don't suggest anyone waste their time on Schlotsky's overpriced, below...

As soon as my husband and I walked in for dinner (we were the only ones inside, although the drive thru seemed busy) there was trash all over the floor! Straw wrappers, crust from sandwiches, toothpicks with different colored swirls and this was under EVERY TABLE! The iced tea machines looked like they hadn’t been washed in months and there was soda syrup all over the bottom of the machine along with other trash. The drink counters has obviously not been cleaned in a while. There were 3 girls working the front mostly chit chatting with each other when they could have grabbed a broom or wiped down a table so we could eat. I ordered a drink but ended up not filling it as I was so disgusted. I got a salad that came in a closed container. Food was ok but I could only think of they are allowing their customers to see this mess in the public space.. how dirty the kitchen must be!!!! We have always loved this restaurant chain but this particular store is NASTY!!! Lastly, I went to the women’s restroom and there were skid marks in the toilet… yuk. I washed my hands but there were no towels to dry them. 0/0 will we ever go back...

Attempted to get some sandwiches at Scholtzsky's yesterday while taking advantage of their $5 sandwich sale. Initially tried to order ahead online, but online ordering was disabled. Attempted to dine in at the store, but the lobby was closed and all doors were locked. There was a sign on the door stating the drive thru was open. At the drive thru I mentioned the $5 sandwich promotion. I was told that the computer system was malfunctioning and not allowing the $5 sales price to ring up properly. The store would not honor the sales price. A manager was needed to override the regular price sandwiches. However, a manager was not present at the store. It was approximately 3:30pm. I asked when the manager would return, and was informed the manager was out for the day. Convenient, huh? However, the store was more than happy to take orders for full priced menu items. I declined and left. Very shady practice for this location which is disappointing since my husband and I have been patrons of this store for over 25 years. Can't see us going back again....
