Date Night
Made a trek to Omaha. Decided to check off the next destination on my Fish & Chips quest! I'd seen pics from Taxi's and knew I had to try it. Walked in, it was busy but we were seated right away. Cool, old school vibe. Everyone in there looked like they'd just stepped off the golf course 😆. Classic Rock playing in the background.
My husband, not surprisingly, was in a soup mood. I mentioned their signature Cabbage and Blue Cheese variety. He asked about that day's selection, it was Corn Chowder. He of course got both. Our server couldn't tell if he was serious. I assured her that he was 😐. He really loved them both. Especially the Chowder. Wouldn't shut up about it.
They have a selection of Lahvosh. Decided on the Mediterranean one. It looked slightly strange when delivered but it was Delicious! The combo of the Herb Vinaigrette and Havarti alone was worth it, the toppings a bonus!
For an entree my husband went with a Special, the Pork Osso Bucco. I kinda figured the second I heard it. It's like something you'd find in Medieval times, fit for a Royal Feast 🍖. He was in Hog Heaven! It was literally fall off the bone tender and flavorful. He also enjoyed the accompanying Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans.
Fish & Chips time! At first look, the portions were kind of oddly shaped, but what matters is the taste. So Freaking Good! Crispy batter, flaky cod, seasoned perfectly 👌! Hand cut fries were just as good. Coleslaw was creamy and included Rainbow Carrots! Tartar was pretty boring but I added a bunch of lemon.
I ended with a Pear Drop Martini. Love anything Pear, it was yummy. Absolute Supreme service from Mindy! Definitely a seasoned pro, kind and anticipatory, she even asked us our names. Top 5 in Omaha for Fish & Chips. We had a Wonderful Evening!

Read moreWent for brunch today and to say it wasn't a great start is an understatement!! Made a reservation and got there a few minutes early and were sat outside on the patio promptly, asked a server to turn on the heater which she did right away which was much appreciated with the chill in the air. Our server came out quickly with waters and took our drink orders. This is where the troubles started as it took about fifteen minutes to get a bloody mary and a couple of peach mimosas even though they weren't even close to busy! (The bacon mary was delicious and the mismosas were good but were about 4oz, not nearly enough for $7!!) After waiting another 10-15 minutes our server finally came and took our order and the food took another 15 minutes or so, two orders came out completely different than what was ordered and my bfast burger was missing the avacado that it was supposed to have. After waiting another ten minutes or so the wrong orders were corrected. After all of this I have to say that the food was delicious!! My burger was a little overcooked but very filling and the fries and slaw were also very good, everything tasted fresh and well done! The other two had the breakfast crossaint sandwiches and breakfast potatoes and were very impressed. After all of our issues and so so service the manager came out and told us she was sorry, their normal chef was not there and the kitchen was having issues and she wanted to comp our whole meal! Did not expect this at all and we were very much appreciative of her and this very nice gesture!! Will for sure be back and highly recommend this place as the food was very good and very fairly priced except for the mimosas. For sure some issues that need ironed out but we were very impressed with management and will continue to frequent this nice little...
Read moreTaxis......yum yum yum!!!!! So we ended up here because two other places we went to had nearly a 2 hour wait. Wife learned about the place off a local FB page for restaraunts etc.
Let's just say glad the other places we're so busy. We were early, 530 ish. Place wasn't busy, looked average on the outside. Once inside and food on the table it was obvious we were going to have a great meal. 1st off the service was immpecable. The food was awesome!!! I consider myself a good "griller" and I'm sure this place had the best burger I'v ever tasted in my life. "Blue cheese Mayo!" Like what?? And the bacon was so good......smoky. All the flavors blended well. My wife had the salmon and it had some type of green sauce that I could only call heavenly!!! Let's not forget "Blue cheese cabbage soup!!" OMG.....like who thinks of this stuff???
We wil lbe back and I recommend this place to everyone. Go and try something new. Seems this place has it's regulars and MANY of them, yet still has room and tables for walk in guests.
Try it and...
