I am EXTREMELY late with this review, but as they say, you never forget a bad experience. I came to this location on February 23, 2023 for the first time since their remodeling and the re-opening. I called in an order for pick up. I was in a big hurry and ordered my mom’s favorite breakfast-ultimate skillet and a basic cheeseburger with onion rings for myself. It was around 9a when I did the pick up. The young hostess working was SO SWEET, I never did get her name (she wrote ‘Happy Birthday’ on my mom’s box and bag). It was my mom’s birthday morning and I was trying to give her a little treat for her day since we both had to still work on her birthday. I was thoroughly surprised when I opened my box to eat and seen these BURNT A** onion rings. If I wasn’t in a rush, I would’ve taken them back and asked for new ones. Luckily, for the “cook” I didn’t have the time. I just couldn’t get over the fact that “they” actually had the audacity to still put these in the box to present like it was OKAY! I called my mom and asked how her food was and she was absolutely delighted to say her ultimate skillet was the best one she has EVER had! (The ultimate skillet is the ONLY thing she [EVER] gets from Village Inn). Imagine my surprise to hear that, but then imagine her shock when I sent her a picture of my onion rings😤🙄 needless to say, I personally will not be ordering from this location again.

Heard this was a revamped store that is a new prototype for the village inn models. It's a very clean and modern space. Everything was pristine. There was staff everywhere as they are trying to train up. I'd recommend the chicken fried steak (often called the cfs) which is commonly a village inn best seller. 5 star The breakfast burrito was also quite large and good. 5 star I personally didn't prefer the acai bowl (there was something about the texture of the acai for me). When the server saw that I didn't really eat it, she asked and offered to take it off the bill. Two managers came over to check to see how they could improve. So if you don't like something, they will fix it. I will say the fruits seemed very fresh. The avocado toast that came with the acai bowl was a bit of a mess to eat though, but aside from it tasted fine. I'd give it a 3.5 Parking is available for free in a medium sized lot.

Won't be back.Patty melt is a small hamburger with 2 packaged slices of cheese and a few sliced grilled onions. Food was warmish, sides of fruit sparse, side of salad small in a small cup and greens starting to spoil. The really disappointing part is the experience. We arrived at 2:30 and the manager welcomed us with " welcome, you're just in time, we close everyday at 3:00". We weren't aware of this and he assured us that was fine. But no sooner received our menu and server asked if we'd decided. We both got a patty melt. While we ate, the manager came over to say server would take our payment "when we were ready" and server came while we ate, signed herself with a scribble on her payment device. We gave over 30% tip for being there at the closing. We were hurried, and out by 3:10.

Two years, maybe even last year, I would have given this VI four stars just to give them the chance to 5 star me. Today I give them two stars just for the possibility that things may get worse. What happened? All that remains is the good service.

My last three meals there...the main dish was lacking flavor and the freshness of being just cooked. The coffee with grounds floating and the tea bitter like sediment at the bottom of the brew...dirty and unpleasant to drink. A broken glass kept in circulation and spotted dishes that would have gone unnoticed had I not sent a pic to my cousin. I spent the next few seconds wiping my dish with a napkin to find what a clean plate should be. It was barely in sight. Two bights in I stripped the burger down to the meat with no bun making things only slightly better and finished only half my fries salted to death and flat to taste. VI was synonymous with pie, so much that it has it's well known, "Free Pie Wednesday". Having been disappointed in their pies as of late I tried the carrot cake. A layered mashed cold concoction of icing and nondecernable cake mortar landing somewhere in my gut immediately sent warnings of regret should I finish the whole thing. I was graciously offered a slice of cherry pie, broken and sad unable to stand tall on its own perhaps, because of the greasy top and undercooked bottom of the crust. I craved a Hostess pie right then and there. Lastly, the restrooms. I know that smell. My son wore his soccer shoes in the wet and let them dry a sweaty rainy mildewy shoe smell once. The same smell occupies the restrooms at VI and it is only cumpounded by the fact that you have to wear your coat to go...freezing cold.

I left, leaving a 20%tip. Not for the food, cleanliness nor weather conditions in the bathroom but for the service and as a goodbye. Hopefully, some day, they'll get their act back together. They have a great team but the product is mis-managed and that falls on the owner. Until then, I have other choices for my breakfast, lunch,...

Ordered DoorDash and it was missing 2 slices of pie. I would have just had DD refund those but then my youngest was trying to cut his sausage link and accidentally flipped his plate all over the kitchen floor, and it ruined his day! Poor little guy was SO looking forward to his Jr Breakfast. I felt so bad for him so I had to go up there and order a new one. Then an extra kid showed up and I figured I may as well feed that one too. We have missed VI in this area. Apparently everyone else did too because it was packed to the gills. Also it is Sunday so there's that. Every table was being used and there was a 35 min wait with a line out the door. The remodel looks nice, very bright and clean. I saw people with oj in champagne glasses so now I'm wondering if they have mimosas?! I will have to investigate that another day. Anyway they were super slammed busy and still squeezed in my 2 Jr Breakfasts order to go and I got my 2 slices of pie. The employees were all busy bees handling business. The manager (I assume since his shirt had a collar) was so nice to squeeze me in, and it saved the day. My little dude was so happy. And my banana cream pancakes were so good, I'm definitely ordering those again. We're so glad VI is back!!! It's not VI's fault my kid spilled his food, but VI still helped us fix it, even as busy as they were. That was some next level customer service, thanks so much!!! ❤ I hope they expand their hours because breakfast is even better at...
