The food was good. It seemed to be seasoned well, but the fish and greens could use more salt. The Mac & cheese was good. It seemed that the food was seasoned for a more health conscious clientele. The homemade tartar sauce was tasty. There was a teenager taking my order. He was nice and with it being a new establishment he needed help placing the order. Everyone was friendly. The interior was nice and roomy. You can sit down and eat there; however, it doesn't appear that it is targeted for a primarily sit down customer like the previous establishment in that location was. All in all I recommend this place. There aren't many places in Ontario to get good soul food or fish. For the price (half off lunches on Monday) I WILL BE EATING HERE AGAIN!

If I could give no stars that’s what I will do but first - i ordered the catfish and shrimp fried I was excited to order because of the reviews but I see nw the reviews are lies because they make you do 5 stars for this restaurant the fish was tasting just Like it was not cleaned just cooked the greens was ok a little spicy but came out the can of course the red beans and rice was horrible the meat so small I almost didn’t see it plus the Mac and cheese must was cooked last week because it was hard bt very greasy of course I just spent 44$ on a meal I couldn’t even eat it was that bad I’m just telling the truth that’s it that’s all last bt not least the shrimp was ok I did eat that no lies detected Hated it I’m not gone lie

I took my mother her as she was excited to try this new place and support a black owned restaurant. The moment we walked in we were not greeted no smile, they just stared at me and my mother. No one tried to seat us or help us. It was our first time and no one came to help explain their menu. I had to personally asked them and when I did they look bothered and gave heavy attitude. We had to literally grab the menu ourselves off the counter. When the employee is just standing there STARING. We bought the family 16 piece. The sides I got tasted old and hard. The Mac n cheese was dry flavorless and not even cheesey, I had to add flavor myself at home. The hush puppies were hard as a rock. I couldn’t even chew them. The fish was OK at best. If you’re in the servicing business you guys should learn how important customer service is. I will not be returning here due to average food(which I could have overlook if the service was better)…, but since it was absolutely horrid I will stay away from this place. It will be closed within the year definitely if...

Never tried any of their previous locations and decided to give it a try. I got a lunch special with Fried Tilapia, Red Beans & Rice, and Cornbread (1.00$ extra). Fried Tilapia 4/5 Fish was fried well, very moist, but I felt it could use a lot more non-salt seasoning. Taste was there, but was expecting stronger paprika/garlic powder. Red Beans and Rice 5/5 Side dish was amazing. Super flavorful, a little bit spicy, and rice was perfectly cooked. The amount of flavor here was more what I expected from the fish. Cornbread 4/5 Cornbread was moist and had great flavor. To be honest, it was a little too moist/flaky for me. One bite and the crumbs went everywhere.

Would definitely recommend if you're in the area and are craving...
