I came here to eat dinner on November 20, 2021 at 4:17 PM. During MY visit, I found the dining room to be spacious and CLEAN! There was cool music playing in the background. The is also a TV you can sit closer if you want to watch. My server was Margaret. (correct spelling I hope.) Margaret was sweet, polite and accommodating. There was no buffet, I suppose due to Covid. I saw the staff working as a team, regardless of station assignment. An older woman took my order, as Margaret was busy elsewhere. I ordered the Steerburger, which was an 8 ounce chopped steak with gravy and grilled onions. I asked for medium rare with the gravy on the side. Iron Skillet loses a star because the gravy was down right TERRIBLE. Canned or packaged gravy of some sort, just add water and walla! ...instant gravy. That's why I ask for it on the side, just in case. C'mon guys, fresh gravy is NOT difficult to make. Why put nasty gravy on a great chopped steak, cooked as I ordered it, medium rare? The grilled onions on the chopped steak was a hit too! I also has a baked potatoe which was great and they give you plenty of butter and sour cream. The meal came with a nice piece of grilled garlic bread, which just had a hint of garlic flavor. I started my meal with a bowl of Corn Chowder, which was pretty decent. Plenty of crackers came with soup. So truckers, do come here to get a decent meal I found it worth the $20.23 including the tip I paid and I will certainly return when next I am in Colton.

I assumed that this cafe/restaurant would be a quaint hole in the wall... Boy was I wrong! Upon entering The Iron Skillet, I was immediately greeted by a group of wonderful servers who were not wearing masks. Apparently, my group would have done well to make reservations in advance. We waited approximately 20-30 minutes to be seated. Even though I came on a weekday, this place was packed! Mostly because it was the week of graduations šŸŽ“. We were seated infront of a large fireplace that added to the ambiance. Once seated, it took a little time for our server, Brian, to get our drinks and take our orders. One of my friends later informed me that she was told that he had just started the job. I'd give his overall rating a 6.75/10. What he lacks in memory, he makes up for in grandiose acts of hospitality, personable connectivity and humor. My group commented on how we felt like we were "regulars." In spite of the newbie, I highly recommend this restaurant. 8.5/10. It's decor has a comfy old school feel, yet there are a couple of flat screen TVs šŸ“ŗ. I'm sure they would be turned on in the afternoon, if they had more employees so that they could stay open past 3pm. Again, if you're looking for a clean place to have a many family, private or banquet style dining experiences, please consider joining my friends and I by showing patronage to this business. I'm sure the owner Tommy would be thankful.

Nice enough people but the food, actual service, and atmosphere were disappointing during my last visit. I’ve gone here a handful of times thru the years and I actually recommended this place today for a breakfast meeting. I was surprised to have the experience I did to be honest. Service - feels rushed but you’re also waiting around for staff to come check on you, offer refills, etc Food - found 2 eggshell pieces in my over-hard eggs. They forgot my ā€œhome friesā€ and by the time they were brought, I was mostly done with my food. I brought them and they had ZERO flavor. Literally had to doctor them up to enjoy. Price - 2 meals, 1 side, 3 drinks came to around $50. I know everything is pricey but if I’m going to pay $50 for breakfast, I’d rather go somewhere I know I will enjoy my food. Atmosphere- as mentioned, staff move fast here and that makes sense because they can get crowded. But to feel rushed and then received subpar service sucks. Lastly, there’s a machine they were using— I honestly don’t know what it is for — maybe construction? Maybe shake machine? But it was so loud, i couldn’t even hear myself think.

I'm visiting from Milwaukee, WI, I love good & healthy food. I kept noticing there was always a long line of people waiting at the Iron Skillet restaurant, usually this is a sign the place has good food & service! Well needless to say I've been to the Iron Skillet Restaurant twice because they have absolutely delicious & healthy food!

I love, love, love omelets I had the best vegetable omelet (all the vegetables available) with turkey & cheddar cheese with the restaurants own home made wheat bread on both my visits to this great restaurant. My son had the NY strip steak & eggs & my daughter-in-law had the cinnamon french toast, they are both still raving about the food.

My son & daughter-in-law live in Ontario, CA, they are both excellent cooks, so they cook at home & don't usually eat at diners when they eat out, they had never eaten at the Iron Skillet. Well, they are true fans of this restaurant & stated they will order food again!

The service was phenomenal as well, from the owner that took my order on both occassions to the entire staff! The owner & waitresses were super friendly, professional & very accommodating, even the cooks said hello to me & other customers. The restaurant practices COVID-19 safety protocols & the restaurant is extremely clean. Even though I ordered carry out, there is outdoor dining.

I will definitely return to this restaurant on my next visit to Ontario, CA, which will be early next year to see my newest grandchild again for her 1st birthday celebration!

I understand why people line up at this restaurant! I love, love,...
