Long wait and not worth the price. No utensils, paper everything, small very cramped tables...food dropped off in a big bag of goo.. extremely messy. (USE THE BIBS THEY OFFER..NOT KIDDING) By the time you literally 'fish' the food out of the bag..and break it open for a tiny morsel of meat (shrimp and lobster) you've died of starvation. Beer was flat and barely cold. Two mediocre (at best) crab cakes . $9... for two..NOT THREE.crab cakes. 3 orders nearly $30..for real??...I'm all about dropping whatever it takes for a good meal but close to $250 for 5 people to wait an hour...to sit in a dive and eat like cavemen...naw. Add the dirty and super sketchy restrooms and RIDICULOUS techno music And I mean.. blaring (like aimed at the 13yr old girls demo) and this was a joke. Im not too good to get down and eat with my hands ..at all ...but for that price I'd prefer to be waited on..drink from a glass and have a cloth napkin as opposed to butcher paper..paper cups and a roll of already nasty paper towels. Add the barely discernable flavor of...red...garlicky...buttery...sauce?...i guess you could call it...and it's just a slop fest. Mama June and the crew from duck dynasty would be right at home but this was not good. Wait staff was super nice and are stretched way too thin. They were slammed and running. I tipped heavy and accordingly. For what it is...food atmosphere (And I use that word with extreme caution..think eating in an alley somewhere in Juarez) and price...my advice..go to Papadeauxs and enjoy a nice meal with room to stretch your legs..converse without having to shout over the skrillex..and feel like you had a meal. If you want to belly up to the trough ..slop around in a bag of gumbo...choke down a flat warm beer from a cup.AND pay a pretty penny ..be their guest. The one star (they should get 4)was for the staff. Who deserve a medal for working...

Read moreOur weekend in Ottawa was an anniversary treat from our kids and from the moment we arrived in Ottawa (at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel) to the moment we drove back up the highway home, it was absolutely fantastic. The Fraser Café was booked ahead of time by our daughter based on the reviews from Trip Advisor and although it was a little out of downtown - it was a very pleasant 30 minute walk from our hotel (it would've been less than 10 mins in the car). It was exactly as the reviews on Trip Advisor said it would be - absolutely fantastic! Our server was lovely and greeted us with two glasses of Prosecco 'on the house' as an Anniversary gift; she was very helpful in going through our choices from the menu. I am vegetarian (although eat fish occasionally) and the chef would have cooked up something completely vegetarian from scratch if I preferred. My husband has to follow a gluten free diet and the server was very helpful in advising the best options. In place of bread for him, they brought out small poppadums for him to nibble on - a lovely touch. From the moment we sat down to the specialty coffee at the very end, every single bite was superb! You definitely need to book ahead to eat here, it was busy when we arrived and still busy when we left 2 hours later but not once did we feel rushed or neglected. The tables are fairly close to each other and the chatter levels are pretty high but not so loud that you can't hear yourself talk. The atmosphere was lovely. We will definitely come back next time we are in Ottawa. Absolutely highly recommended, probably one of the best meals...
