Joey's Pizza — Restaurant in Ontario

This place really made my childhood, my earliest memories of joey’s are from 24 years ago but I know they’ve been here even longer. I don’t remember much from 24 years ago about the food, but their pasta was the only kind of pasta my very picky mother would enjoy eating (and that says a lot lol). I think they’ve changed owners a few times. Recently, I got their joey’s special pizza for to go but didn’t get to eat it until 2 hours later. But it was still wonderful! The dough was soft but still had a crisp, you can tell it was well-kneaded and well-rested dough. The dough also had a nice fragrance and mouth-feel. Pizza sauce was fresh, not watery. Toppings were top quality. Prices were not so bad, considering inflation. Let's give credit where it's due, the young lady that took my order was very sweet and pleasant. I asked when placing my order if they had both marinara and meat sauce, she said yes. I then requested my spaghetti with meat sauce as well well as meatballs. Upon arrival I paid and tipped the driver for my order. Before he left I asked him to wait a moment while I checked my food. That's when the disappointment set in, the portion control was so bad, nor did I get the meat sauce as I asked. On top of the near $5.00 tip they had the audacity to charge a $5.50 delivery fee which was never disclosed. I can’t say enough good things about this place. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the smell of fresh dough, and bubbling cheese. The crust is that perfect balance of crispy on the outside and soft airy chewy on the inside. Every bite tastes like flavor party!
