This place was a total surprise treat. We ate at a Wingers once in Canada but the experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. We think we remember the food being decent but Canada is a wing-mecca and our initial reaction was "why are there so few flavors?" Additionally, though, we were there visiting some of our best friends who are Canadian, they hadn't come along that evening and we were eating with some of our other best friends who had come with us from the US. Just as our food arrived, the whole restaurant erupted in a full-fledged crises freak out. That was the night Lady Diana died in a car crash and we didn't understand the level of devotion that Canadians have to the British Monarchy. Without our Canadian friends there to help us process what was happening, we just thought the whole thing was over the top. Back then, most of the US was sick to death of hearing about the Royals and their nonsense. Prince Charles was a philanderer and the Duchess of York and her husband weren't having a great marriage either and we were tired of hearing about it all. My buddy who was there is US/German and spends a lot of time in Europe and even he thought it was nuts. We still talk about the experience at least once a year because it was so surreal.
But I digress...
This time around, we were on our way home from an actual emotional experience and we just wanted some classic comfort food and Wingers delivered in spades. Everything we ate was delicious. My wife got a burger with an egg on it and we shared a sampler platter. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Pro-Tip: Pass on the syrup and have them serve this with their sticky wing sauce. It's magical! Of course, there are no Wingers locations in the Greater Seattle area and apparently they've pulled out of BC Canada too so we'll just have to wait until we come east but we'll eat there every time now. The service was top...
Read moreA couple of friends and myself went in for lunch today. We visit this location quite frequently and have always received great service. But today was different... We were seated by a lady named Yvonne. She got our drink order and brought them out to us. We then ordered our food. We waited about 25 minutes for our lunch. When it came out, our onion rings were noticeably burned and myself and my friend commented saying "whats wrong with our rings?" And she acted like she didnt even hear us. Not to mention, we only got 4 onion rings each. We both ordered the drunken pig burger, as it has been our favorite for quite some time and never disappoints, until today. The patty was so dry and had no flavor, the pork was dry, there was absolutely no sauce on it whatsoever and tasted horrible. I had to wait about 10 minutes for her to come back to our table to ask for a side of sauce to make it somewhat edible. She also only asked if we wanted our drinks refilled one time which was after our glasses had been empty for about 15-20 minutes. When she came to our table to see if we needed any boxes, i said..."No, this isn't really worth taking home...it didn't taste very good and im not happy with our meal." She took our plates and walked away acting like she didn't hear me, once again. I also noticed we were charged for the sides of sauce which i have never had happen prior to this visit. I almost always get waited on by a girl named Poetry and she is a total sweetheart who makes sure my food is correct and fixes any issues no questions asked. I guess from now on I'll be calling ahead of time to make sure she's working because i don't want to have another piss poor...
Read moreI had the chips and salsa, and my buddy had a grilled chicken salad. The salsa is hearty and zesty enough, there's no need to season your chips so much. The short work my friend made of the salad ensured a tasty rating as he's a fussy eater. We were there to have a snack and watch the Michigan v Husky game. The place was steady but in no way packed, snow to blame for that. This isn't our first visit since good places to eat that televise the games in Ontario are limited. Typically the food is good 👍no major foul-ups. This visit service was slow and just was outright lacking in everything you'd expect. We were seated at the bar in the lounge, 2 bartenders wandered in and out from behind the bar and both ignored us. Finally, a couple moved from a table to the bar next to us so they could see the TV better. And their server thought they were joining us, so we got some attention, but the service didn't improve. I could feel a genuine coldness every time we were spoken to by the bar staff. Likely won't be back...
