Calabria Pizza — Restaurant in Oradell

This message goes out to the tough guy manager who called me today over an issue with a pizza my wife ordered. Ordered through GrubHub and after receiving this lovely looking burnt crust pie a claim was filed. Tough guy calls me and tells me that he “personally took the pizza out of the oven” and that “it wasn’t burnt.” Take a look at the photo and tell me it isn’t burnt. He then went on to say that we constantly put in claims to GrubHub about issues with the food and (in so many words) told me that We should not order from them anymore. After supporting this restaurant throughout the pandemic and hundreds of dollars of food that’s what we get. A giant FU. Sad because your food is good…we only put in LEGITIMATE claims. Stopped here on the way back to DC from Hoboken. We were all really hyped up to stop here after hearing from friends how awesome this place was and see a great score on barstool. They got an 8.9 which is rare. Got a couple of pies and order of chicken marsala. We weren't disappointed at all. This place is amazing! Super friendly and funny staff. Made us feel like family. We all agreed the pizza and chicken marsala was probably the best we've ever had. Even after we had been eating Italian food all throughout the week. It's better than anything you would get in the dc area. Definitely going to come back here again when we come back up to Jersey not just for the pizza, but also want to try some other things on the menu that our friends told us about. I would even drive the 3 1/2 hours back up here just for the pie and pasta....

Order was absurdly late, excuses provided. I am unsympathetic to "we are really busy" as an excuse (and most people are too) because even if I simply accept them at their word, in the best case scenario, they are too incompetent to properly service at the volume they sell. If they can't even do that, do you wonder how clean the kitchen might be? In the worst case scenario, they are simply lying.

Given that my only recourse is leaving a bad review and warning consumers, that's what I'm doing. Don't order from here, or your only recourse will be the same as mine and the other negative reviews below.
