Great Foods Market & Catering — Restaurant in Oradell

Wow. Just gave a call to this place to place a catering order. They did a party last year for me and everything was wonderful. So I'm a repeat customer which I stated up front. I got some woman on the phone who started lecturing me about a Sunday minimum order of $600 to have the food made fresh that day. I honestly didn't understand at first what she was explaining to me at first and asked her to repeat herself. She got very testy with me on the phone and told me they were closing soon and she wanted to get home to her kids and then proceeded to continue to lecture me about why my party on a Sunday wasn't a big enough minimum to bring her staff in to make the food fresh. That Sunday's are her family time and it isn't worth it to her. I get it, I'm a business owner. I understand costs of doing business. But as I explained to her, I would never, ever treat a repeat customer the way she treated me just now on the phone or lecture them the way she lectured me and didn't let me get a word in. Repeat customers are the bread and butter of every business and I was made to feel stupid and like a criminal the way this woman spoke to me. She couldn't get off the phone fast enough and clearly did not care about keeping my business. I'm a longtime Bergen county resident and realtor who has recommended this place time and again since I used them last year. Not anymore. I will find a new caterer and will be SURE never to recommend them to anyone....

You can tell they use nothing but the best ingredients. It’s not unusual to see the team planning new items for their menu - they always have a new feature that blows us away. . Absolutely great experience with Great Foods. Steve, Jenn and the entire staff was amazing. They made sure they asked the questions that would provide the details needed for an excellent event. From the moment I walked into the store for the first time, they made me feel welcome and they were willing to exceed my expectations. My guests raved about everything. Some highlights included asparagus frico, stuffed mushrooms, the filet mignon, potatoes and stringbeans, salad with red and gold beets champagne vinaigrette. The list is endless. Even the chicken fingers were excellent, as they are made by hand on site. It's hard to believe that a chicken finger could be a highlight. The fruit platters with a vanilla dipping sauce was so delicious. From beginning to end, we could not have been more please with the experience. I can't wait for the next event.
