Huge THUMBS DOWN for me on Lauria's for me.
I called tonight to order dinner for pick up. I was so excited to try this place out for the first time and finally convinced my family to give it a try! After taking my order, the bartender (B) who happens to be the bar manager called back to inform me they didn’t have pasto pasta. The conversation went like this:
B: “The kitchen told me they don’t have pesto pasta, so do you want something else?”
Me: Well…what pasta’s do you have?
B: Fettuccine and Spaghetti, thats it.
Me: I’m glad I asked instead of me asking for different dishes and you telling me you don’t have it.
B: OH MY GOD, do you want food from here or not?
Me: (Laughing) is there a manager?
B: I am the manager. I am the bar manager.
Me: oh well that’s double hilarious. Nope, I don’t want to order a thing. Have a good night.
PS - when I called earlier, the same woman picked up the phone but then proceeded to have a conversation with someone else for about 20 seconds before she acknowledged she answered the phone. I said hello twice before she finally said hello back to me.
They are an Italian food restaurant that only had Fettuccine and Spaghetti pasta dishes at 5:30pm in a Monday…not a good look 👀 as a OB resident, I will NEVER recommend anyone go...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to this dinner during our vacation, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences we’ve had in a long time.
From the start, it was difficult to get the attention of whoever was supposed to be taking care of our table. We ordered a bottle of wine directly from the bartender, who was friendly and knowledgeable—and we thought that might turn things around. Unfortunately, it didn’t.
It took 15–20 minutes to receive anything at all, and when our food finally came, both the appetizer and entrees arrived at the same time. Nothing resembled the beautiful images we’d seen online. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, a favorite of mine when trying new Italian spots—it’s often a good indicator of quality. These meatballs were clearly microwaved to the point of being rubbery and inedible. The other entrée included grilled chicken that had artificial grill marks and a processed texture.
The only redeeming quality was the wine, which was actually quite good.
We gave the staff every opportunity to improve the experience during the meal but nothing changed. Sadly, this underwhelming and overpriced dinner cost over $100. Definitely not what we hoped for on a...
Read moreAbsolutely horrendous food. Special said baked meatballs $10 I would be willing to bet anything they are for sure microwaved meatballs you could buy from any supermarket and it tasted like the cheapest canned/jarred sauce you can find along with greasy halfway melted cheese. As for the service the dude just sat there playing on his phone while I kept hearing the cook/microwave ringing the bell he dropped the food the food and said there ya go it's really hot, definitely wasn't hot barely warm enough to not send it back. Yes I know expect what you pay for but compared to petrella's in pensacola for literally a couple dollars more where you get all you can spaghetti and meatballs plus garlic bread and salad it is a complete world of difference you get legit homemade baked meatballs that are 4 times at least the size of the ones I got today and service has always been great at petrellas. Don't waste your time or money on this...
