Fiancé and I were looking for a whole in the wall joint , as we are not from around here. Stumbled upon Grams. We're a bit discouraged from the yelp & google reviews we read , however we do not base our own experience based off others. Unfortunately we are giving a 3 star rating & this is why...
When we first entered , we were not greeted by any of the staff ... as they were busy plenty zoomed right past us in a hurry . The one table that was open , was pilled high with dishes from previous customers. My fiancé had to stop a waitress and request it be cleaned off so we could sit down as I have a knee injury & shouldn't be standing to long. Once the table was cleared off , we were greeted by our waitress. She was an older lady and seemed to already have a rough morning. She asked for our order & as we have never been here before we asked her for lunch recommendations . It was clear she could read the items off the menu , but really didn't offer any suggestions . After ordering ; she explained to us several times that it was going to take a long time to receive our food ... which was understandable with the rush ... but as it cleared out didn't make too much since . Luckily , my fiancé and I weren't in a hurry . 45 minutes later ... we receive our meal. My fiancé ordered a western burger (no mayo) with fries and potato salad . I ordered the country fried steak , with mashed potatoes & corn . Like most reviews ; our order came out wrong . Surprisingly our food wasn't cold , but it really wasn't hot neither . The burger had mayo oozing out the sides of the burger & no bbq sauce & it was a bit overdone. The side of potato salad seemed like a child portion , just thrown on a plate. My fiancé said it was nothing he would come back for. He rates his burger experience a 2. My country fried steak came out & looked delish. However , I like my food piping hot so I can take my time and enjoy it , rather then having to scarf it down before it gets cold . My food was warm .... well kind of . I received green beans rather then corn , but to my surprise the green beans were quite good . The mashed potatoes had a funky after taste to them ... & the country fried steak was quite small compared to other experiences . Supposedly the country fried steak was a lunch special ... turn the page of the menu & see its priced the same as the dinner portion . When our waitress came to check on us she asked how everything was : upon voicing our concerns as our order was wrong , she simply stated she was sorry ... & walked away . Don't think we will be coming back . Quite disappointed , as my fiancé and I are business owners ourselves we like to support other small businesses. Hopefully this place gets it together !!! Could have been a 5 star...
Read moreWe walked in with our autistic son who sometimes makes loud ah ah ah noises when excited. Because of that I always look around and sit away from the others out of respect just incase. We noticed the whole other half of the restaurant was full so we decided to sit on the opposite side where no one was. The waiter sat us, didn't offer any kid menu, ask for drinks etc and says I'll be right back... So our son started with the noise so I of course trying everything to keep him quiet and as I'm getting my phone ready for him to play to quiet him down a little.( We also heard a new born baby crying on the other side of the restaurant). The waiter came back to our table and asked us to sit outside because our autistic sons noises were too loud and disturbing the other guests! So I said well are you going to ask the baby crying to sit outside with us? Or how about you tell whomever is complaining to sit outside if they wanted peace. I was so hurt and upset because our son and family was never offered a drink, crayons, cookie or anything to try to help him/us then we were demanded to just leave after my questions for those things! Totally treated poorly, never given a chance or even service to help or try to help, just told to sit outside by a busy road in the heat if we wanted service. Very rude staff who discriminates against people with disabilities and color!!!! And very poor service!!!!! So if you're autistic who makes odd noises they won't try to help or accommodate you they just dont want you there !! The way they act I bet they are against color too!!! Don't waste your money on people who hate and discriminate on children with...
