Burnt ribs and bad service So I have been coming here for a while and have eaten here many times and it’s delicious. There was a time before today that I had a rib plate and the meat was burnt on both of my plates. I called and wouldn’t necessarily say complain but let them know that it was too burnt. I say burnt because like I said I have eaten here many times and it’s delicious. Well today I waited patiently until 10am to place my order because I wanted a rib plate. So I order 2 and am on my way. I get to my job site and my ribs are burnt. I call them back and explain the situation very peacefully to the lovely lady in the front counter who took the concern very professionally. I explained to her that I have eaten there many times and the food is rarely burnt but it is the 2nd time this has happened and asked if they can remake the meat. I was gonna keep the rice and salad and egg rolls I bought. She said go Ahead and bring it back. I get there and the owner is waiting for me already. He did not hesitate to grab the money and give it to me. I tried to explain to him that I didn’t want a refund but I wanted the meat redone because I love the food here. He was so rude and didn’t want to hear anything I had to say. He didn’t give me my refund for my egg rolls because I didn’t bring them. I told him if I would have know that I didn’t have the option but to take my money back I would have brought everything back but that wasn’t my intention to get my money back. It surprised me because I have never had a situation like that in...
Read moreI would smell the most delightful aromatic fragrance of grilled teriyaki flavored beef, pork, and chicken along my daily drive on Katella Ave in Orange, CA, while passing Hone Depot. Finally, one late afternoon, I had to learn from where this delicious aroma emanated and quickly found California Teriyaki Grill fronting Katella across from the Home Depot.
California Teriyaki Grill menu does not disappoint with many food combinations and price points to satisfy the most ravenous teriyaki diner.
The service is prompt, courteous, and well-informed about their food and its preparation.
The ambiance or atmosphere is minimal Asian Pacific Island, and the dining area is intimate. Do not let either dissuade potential purveyors of Teriyaki from this establishment. Remember you are here for the food.
I ordered the teriyaki beef short ribs plate and enjoyed each and every sweet and savory morsel, satiating my teriyaki craving. I highly recommend California...
Read moreOverall, pricing is fair for portion sizes. Place is clean with room for dinning in. I’m not generally fond of teriyaki, but this place is worth checking out if you’re in the area.
Here’s the item breakdown: Salmon Bento Bowl (+ avocado) 5/5 The salmon was well seasoned and cooked, although personal preference would be for a crunchy top. Salad seemed to have mint sprinkled on, which made the salad quite refreshing. Only note was that the miso seemed too salty. If you’re not a heavy eater, this meal can work well for two.
Chicken and Beef Bowl 5/5 The teriyaki sauce used is decent: not too salty and not too sweet, making the meal enjoyable. Chicken and beef weren’t aggressively fatty like a lot of places tend to be, which means you’re getting your moneys worth here.
Gyoza 4/5 The gyoza you find at every local restaurant. Good, but nothing to...
