I visited this bakery looking for cupcakes. They had a variety of cupcakes that ranged in price from 1.99 to little over 2.00 per cupcake. I asked the attendant if the cupcakes were fresh because I base how many I get by this. If they are fresh I get more because I know they should last a few days, I don't have to eat them right away. If not fresh, I would only get what we would eat the same day. I judge freshness by what day they were baked. So I asked her what day were they baked, she said, oh we baked them every night, they are fresh. So I got 6. We had a cupcake after dinner the first night and they were really good. The next day we had one and I noticed that it was dry and kind of hard. My wife said the same for hers. I thought maybe it was the kind, so for dinner I ate the same one I did the day before, and it too was hard. So they were not freshly cooked everyday as told. I have gotten cupcakes from the grocery store that I know were not baked the night before and they stayed moist for a couple days later. I also kept them in the same fancy little box that they give you, so maybe they need to get a different container. I don't know if that's the reason either because I have bought cupcakes from my favorite cupcake shop in Columbia, SC and they are twice as big, cost the same, but taste better, for sure baked the same day, because they are always running out, and last longer. The customers to lined up. It's called Cupcake Down South, on Lincoln Street. If you ever there, go...
Read moreNot very personable and a bit rude. We have never been to the bakery and bought something that looked like a quiche...it was not a quiche. It would have been helpful if when calling it a quiche, the employee took that opportunity to explain what it actually was. Asked for it to be cut, they said they couldn't because they already warmed it up (it's a piece of bread that was lukewarm...still robust enough to cut). Also, they have a menagerie of a few paper saucers, forks, and knives for sale rather than just have one available for your purchase if needed. Clever way to make an extra 2 bucks when people need supplies to go along with a cake purchase (applause for that).
I also question how fresh the items are because usually when stepping into a bakery, you smell breakd, cake, sweets...something. there was NO classic bakery smell. The items...

She said all the cupcakes were a dollar and I had to try a few. I got the red velvet, carrot cake, German chocolate, lemon with blueberry cream and lemon with lemon cream on top. The red velvet was ok, it was very mild in flavor. My husband is a big lemon fan and he loved both lemon cupcakes, my favorite was the carrot and German chocolate. Absolutely delicious. If you not sure about coming here try them on a Tuesday and get a few cupcakes for $1 to see if you like the place. I also seen Saturday they have 12 cookies for $5. I guess my back just going to be big this summer because with prices like that and tasting so good, im definitely going to keep...
