Mika Sushi — Restaurant in Orange

The sushi was amazingly 😍 fresh. The place was clean and the presentation was on point. I loved the quaint atmosphere. We had an appetizer of blue soft shell crab. The breading was a bit thick and the crab was rather moist. The flavors were good but I'm not sure I would order that if I went back. Only because the balance of bread to fish ratio was so so. I think this combination could have been pronounced better with a sauce. We also ordered some egg rolls but again, their sushi was so good, had I to do over again I would have saved all my stomach space for another roll instead of the appetizer. The sushi was 5 stars +, the egg rolls 3.5*, and the soft shell crab 3.5. The mango tango roll had so many flavors going on I did not even want to use the soy sauce as it may overpowered all of the other delicate flavors happening within the roll. Same with the crazy monkey, loved the cashews and sauces and did not want to overpower the delicate flavors with soy sauce. The service was attentive to all of our needs. We also had Yuki Sake and that was delicious with a slightly sweet taste but not overwhelming. I would go back there in a heartbeat for their sushi and service.

I really love the taste and quality of Mika Sushi. Since I tried it last year on recommendation it's been my go-to sushi place! I would gladly remain loyal for life, however I have unfortunately gone on a sushi strike these last few months as prices sky rocketed. Checking prices of other restaurants these last few weeks in 2023 show that Mika's prices are about 35% higher than competition on direct orders. It's even worse through delivery services.

Sadly, even though Mika's extraordinary quality justifies a slight price increase, I've been priced out of my favorite sushi haunt.

Its the closest sushi place from my place so I usually go for pick up orders. I always get the bad impression from the women work there because they are just so rude. The food is decent. Today I called for a pick up order, and they put me on hold for 10 min. I could hear that they were just chit chatting in Korean while Im on hold. I understand when its busy, but I did not want to waste any of my min listening to their chatting while treating me like Im not existing. It was not the first time they treated me that way.
