I do not recommend this place, not really impressed. The restaurant looked pretty neat and had some beautiful paintings. Seems pretty clean. Lady working was really nice. The food, in our opinion, wasn't worth the money. The rice tasted like plain white rice. The beans looked like playdoh. They didn't have any ground beef. So we got shredded chicken tacos and shredded beef tacos and nachos. It looked good, but it lacked flavor, a lot of flavor. It was very bland. And the shredded beef was weird and didn't taste good enough to eat. I did eat the chicken tacos bc it wasn't terrible. The kids tried the shredded beef tacos and nachos and then didn't touch the rest of their meals. So lots of money wasted there. Especially when they wanted ground beef. We told the waitress that they didn't like it and she just said, "Ok" and walked away. So.....that was really unhelpful. But.....ok. Anyways, we paid $75 for gross food...needless to say, I do not recommend their food. Let me add, I thought my husband paid the bill, he thought I did when we were walking out. The waitress notified us of our unpaid bill at which I apologized over and over for. I don't think I'd be a Google local guide if I went around not paying my bill and it really makes you look even worse for even attempting to imply that we were skipping on a bill. To add another tip, bring the bill before you bring to go containers and bags and before you disappear into the back for long periods of time. I had no idea we weren't squared away and thought my husband had paid and vice versa as we had both gone to the bathroom to wash our hands after eating, separately, due to having two Littles with us. I had no reason to think the bill hadn't been paid. Especially as we were walking out the kids were stopped at the front door, taking pictures of the paintings and we stood with the door open while they did that etc. And then you wanted to wait until we were outside, mind you it's December and cold, had our coats and hats and all of our belongings gathered, to bring...
Read moreWow oh wow! Hats off to a fabulous job with this restaurant. “MISTER TACO” (not to be confused by Mr Taco elsewhere) is a BYOB and the prices are reasonable for the nice size portions of more authentic Mexican cuisine. We so enjoyed sharing in the 1 year anniversary of its opening. So happy it was a full house too. As we have gotten a little older our appetites have gotten smaller but we couldn’t resist ordering more than we usually do. The chips are homemade and crispy but not salty which we prefer and are great for dipping and scooping up the Ceviche or guacamole. In fact it was so delicious that I drank the juice from this dish not to waste one bit of it. My hubby looked at me like “please get her a straw.” The chicken fajitas were tender and perfectly seasoned in that sizzling pan and more chicken than peppers and onions so you get your monies worth. On the lighter side and a great to go is the chicken cutlet Torta sandwich which was so delish and large enough to share or to take home half for a late night snack. I don’t think it would keep for the next day. Of course the atmosphere is colorfully vibrant with hand painted walls. The original hand crafted chairs are done in a beautiful turquoise.leather and cushioned for comfort especially if you have back issues and really want to stay awhile and enjoy the Sangria or Margaritas. Some restaurants use metal chairs and we avoid those places even if the food is great. On this anniversary celebration we also enjoyed walking in and listening to Giovanni singing solo and later accompanied by the four piece mariachi band with the beautiful female singer. I also closely looked at some of the dishes being served at other tables and they looked so good that we’d have to make this a regular stop just to try them. This cozy little place will be a great addition to our collection of restaurants we enjoy dining at. Will definitely be back soon. Congratulations and we wish you many...
Read moreI was in the mood for tacos and decided to try this place because it was near my home… I was terribly disappointed. We placed a to go order and got steak quesadillas, quesabirria, chicken tacos, and French fries… I will say, the French fries were your basic frozen fries and were fine. You don’t get a lot for the 4 bucks but they were cool. The steak quesadilla was my bf’s order… he didn’t like it, but I thought it was mid. Not terrible, but not great at all. The quesabirria (what I really wanted) was not good at all. Idk what they use to flavor this dish but it was somehow weirdly flavored but not flavorful… I ended up tossing them. They do give you consumé but it tastes like nothing. The chicken tacos fell completely apart… the tortillas were mushyyyy and the chicken had absolutely no flavor at all… tasted like they chopped chicken breast and just threw it on the plancha with no seasoning. I was hoping for better since this place is so conveniently located to me, but I couldn’t with good conscience recommend this place...
