I have only eaten here a few times because I dont live here, but pass through on occasion and love me a BMT. I would say 3 stars is about right, but that's only because they are so convenient right off of rt. 15, that's worth a star right there, and when I've been here, there is hardly anyone else here so the wait has not been bad. It can be DMV level time-suck at some Subways. I dont think there is another one in orange, so if you live here, its all you got.
I believe the low-star reviews. I do not believe the 5 star reviews. Some people throw those around like confetti. 5 stars is perfection, not just because the worker was nice that day.
My visit today is enough to remind me to be prepared to get food elsewhere when I pass through. I DO believe the owners may be unpleasant...not because I have interacted with them, but the employees never seem happy when I've been here. They are completely unmotivated and appear mostly untrained. I have literally had an ACTUAL 5 star experience at a Subway before, so it's a management/employee thing for sure.
The other problem is they have kept all their COVID era plexiglass shields, so its hard to communicate with them over the counter. The guy today wouldn't even make eye contact with me, so he couldn't even see my lips move to help understand.
Today as the employee seemed to struggle with my request for 50% more meat (this is a menu line item at most subways I go to, its pretty clear that it is an up-charge) I began looking at the toppings. The spinach was rotten for lack of a better way to say it and the shredded lettuce looked like it had just been "overfilled" but was already turning brown. I like some spinach on my BMT but skipped any of the greens, it just didn't look good. This is unacceptable and makes me concerned about the other ingredients that are hard to tell how long they have been stored.
The owner or manager was right there when I walked in. He was counting cash with the employee, probably to hold him accountable for the register, and for good reason, the guy was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. There is no way the owner did not see that bad spinach. A total lack of giving a rip.
I gave 3 stars because of the location, and you CAN get something "close" to a subway sandwich here, albeit substandard.
People mention they dont do the coupons and special offers here. I have encountered that in several locations. In all fairness, I dont know how they can survive at buy one get one free, but the Subway commercials are total bullsnot. It's a bait and switch. I saw recently where they say "online only"...sorry, if I'm not standing there when they build the sandwich, they will not make it in the intentional layering I want. They just slap these things together to begin with...I want to see it being made, even...
Read moreI have to edit my review because like an IDIOT I stopped by thismorning and im LITERALLY sick to my stomach. THE food was all wilted and gross. The bread stale VERY STALE. The vegetables were all turning brown. The tomatoes are damn see through and grey. Lettuce and spinach was the worst, I asked for fresh spinach he just threw the new spinach on top the old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can literally taste the food is bad. Even though I am starving, I'm not eating this sandwich . This is absolutely disgusting. And shameful. I was also given a dirty wrapper around my sandwich. Has black I don't even know what dried all over it. . This subway is THE WORST. I learned my lesson. Never ever again. 10/21/23
I am DISGUSTED by how down right DISGUSTING the OWNER is toward the employees. And in front of CUSTOMERS!??!?!!!!!!!! how awful. You all need something done about that owner. He was horrible, I would have walked out if I hadn't already told the poor employee my order. Get your stuff straight subway. I will never step foot in there again with my children as long as that...
Read moreWalked in who I would think is the manager (she was in a black shirt) was on her phone texting (we were the only customers). She walked over to start making my sister's and my order and looked like we had annoyed her by coming in. I ordered my dad's sub and then came back next to my sister to order mine. My sister was deciding what chicken she wanted and the lady was getting frustrated. As my sister was saying which chicken, the lady grabbed it up and interrupted my sister to ask if she wanted the sub toasted or not. When I ordered my sub, I requested pepper jack cheese. When the gentlemen putting the veggies on the sub was doing mine, I noticed my sub had American cheese on it. I pointed it out to him and he told his manager. She seemed a little irritated that she had to put a different cheese on. We weren't greeted or thanked for coming in. Just a really...
