Last night I was one of the last customers in line, arriving 15 mins before closing time. As usual the line was wrapped around the building, so I waited. I set out on a journey just to come to this spot for dinner for my bf and I. It's about an hour round trip. (Worth it.) My bf and I love the Pitmaster so I ordered each of us a sliced brisket sandwich and a side of potato salad and baked beans. I rush home so dinner will be waiting for him when he returns home, he's been working late and long hours I wanted to surprise him. I can hardly wait to eat mine, it smelled so delicious on the ride back home. I'm diabetic so I decided to go ahead and eat before it got much later, so I open the brown bag to pull out the baked beans and brisket sandwich and what I saw was potato salad and a turkey sandwich with pickles and onions. I do not prefer either so I just took them off and had no choice but to eat it. Everything is closed. I'm starving. Exhausted. And still had to make yet another trip into town to get something else for my bf to eat. DQ Steak basket is nowhere near equivalent but what can you do, everything is closed up for the night I have now spent $40 and an hour and a half drive time to get him dinner. He was happy to have food, nonetheless. He chose to eat the potato salad with his DQ, so I handed him the large container and as he dove into it with his spoon he says, this is no potato salad, it's banana pudding!! 😄 His favorite. Almost* like grandma's! He loved it. So in the end, y'all still saved the day! Lol He says kudos to who ever is in charge of making the pudding. Thank y'all! I'll be coming back tomorrow, however for my...
Read moreI'd give 5 stars if my crawfish experience here hadn't been so poor. Lately, their BBQ is definitely the best in Orange. Their sweet tea is always great. Not over sweet like most places. Their food is "pricey", but it's very good and take into consideration that their mainstay is meat. Meat is pricey. Food costs money people. Go eat at Taco Bell if you want cheap. My only complaint is that the only time I tried crawfish from here a couple years ago they were very poor. I'm from Southwest Louisiana and extremely particular about my mud bugs. If they aren't cooked and seasoned correctly then they're a waste. The ones I got were severely overcooked, mushy and were barely able to peel. The flavor was good, but I can't excuse such a delicacy being cooked to mush. I called about the issue and was only offered a couple free BBQ sandwiches. I was given a bad excuse that their crawfish is "field run and all different sizes so they cook inconsistently". Anyone who really knows about cooking crawfish knows that isn't the case. The variation in size on field run isn't nearly enough to cause some to be mush while others are acceptable. I'll definitely be back for their BBQ. One thing to add. They are...
Read moreI usually have the PITMASTER BBQ sandwich with chopped brisket and a side of coleslaw. The spicy mayo, onions, pickles, and BBQ sauce all blur together in the chopped beef to make a really outstanding flavor and texture. The jalapeno buns just can't hold it all in so you get to enjoy all the pieces that fall out once you are done. The chopped brisket has a great smoky flavor, is tender and is good quality lean beef like you would get with sliced brisket. The employees are great. I enjoyed a sandwich out on the tailgate of my truck in the parking lot one day. As I was finishing, one of the guys came out and asked how it was. I was putting all the napkins and wrappers in the sack and was putting it in my truck to throw away later but he insisted on taking care of it for me. Five stars for flavor,...
