Archie's: A Bit of a Rollercoaster Ride My visit to Archie's food truck was, to put it mildly, a bit of a rollercoaster. There were definitely moments that made me smile, but others left me a little disappointed. Let's start with the good stuff because there was some! That fry sauce at Archie's? Seriously excellent. I could have dipped just about anything in it and been happy. And I have to give credit where it's due, the Philly cheesesteak was something else. It was so good, in fact, that I'd probably swing by Archie's again just to get my hands on another one. Someone mentioned "fried" being a winner, and honestly, if that was referring to some of the fries, then they definitely got something right there. However, not everything was a home run. The "fabrat" sandwich I ordered? Unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. It ended up being pretty slimy, and I'm guessing that cheap bun was the culprit. It really detracted from what could have been a decent sandwich. Then there were the fries. While someone else might have had a good batch, mine were definitely over-seasoned, which kind of overpowered everything else. The corn dogs and mini tacos were also a bit underwhelming. They definitely tasted like they were from the "great value brand" ā nothing particularly special there. And those mini tacos? Apparently, they're deep-fried and seem to be the same kind you'd pick up at Walmart, just like their corn dog counterparts. It felt a little like they were cutting corners on some of the basics. So, overall, my experience at Archie's was just... average. There were definitely some highlights, like that amazing fry sauce and the really good Philly. But the issues with the sandwich, the over-seasoned fries, and the low-quality corn dogs and mini tacos held it back. It felt like Archie's has the potential to be much better if they focused a little more on the quality of all their ingredients. For now, though, it was just your typical food truck experience ā some wins, some losses, and nothing truly blew me away except for that darn...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe wanted to go to a breakfast spot down the road, and it was closed so we ended up here. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with fries and my boyfriend got the Philly with onion rings, we also shared mini corn dogs. The spicy (and sweet) chicken sandwich caught me off guard with how sweet it was because the menu only said spicy chicken sandwich. When I asked if it was supposed to be sweet they explained that itās a spicy sweet sandwich and offered me a different menu item or my money back. I filled up on the fries with the fry sauce and the corn dogs because they were AMAZING, so I went with the latter and they also gave me a t shirt. We were just passing through so Iām not sure if weāll ever be back in the area, but if we do find ourselves around here again, we will definitely be eating here.
Very happy that our first option was closed so that we were able to try Archieās! My boyfriend loved the Philly and the onion rings. If you come here, definitely try the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love the 89, one of my favorite drives in the country. I stayed the night just down the road in Mt. Carmel and had dinner at a restaurant there but the next day, I waited patiently for Archies to open for a fantastic burger and fries. It was windy and I was early but also first customer of the day. I placed my order and chatted with the server for a few minutes till the food was up then hustled to my car to eat out of the wind. The staff told me this was unusual wind but have a plan B in mind when you come here since seating is outside only. The burger and fries were delicious. I didn't get the fabrats burger since I had a 10 hour drive home but it looks amazing. While burgers and fries are fairly common, these were above average and I will be back. This is one of the few restaurants in the area and it being a good one necessitated...
