The benches were VERY uncomfortable, and I think I'd rather sit at the bar, if I went again. It's not a great setup for a restaurant, as the seating seems cramped a little, and the place gets very noisy, easily. I'm hard of hearing and wear hearing aids, and found it very difficult to hear my friend and converse normally as we ate The food was pretty good, but I was disappointed that they didn't have waffles. I had that stuck on my mind as we drove there, and found a meal on the menu to order, only to be gruffly told that they don't have waffles, and would I like to order something else. I wouldn't go so far as to say that the waitress was rude, but she had no customer service skills, and I felt very rushed. The French toast was good, but not really what I wanted. Maybe I'm picky about my food, but I don't like picking a meal off some menu with one thing that I want, and the rest is junk. I want to order a reasonable meal, and not have them charge 2.50 for an extra dang egg! I could buy a whole dozen with that, so why the heck do I want to go out and let some stranger cook food for me and hope that I like it?? It's for this reason that I would rather cook at home, and avoid the stress, extra noise and chaos of too many conversations, overpriced food that isn't even what I wanted, and small portions for the price. I'm not sure I'd want to go back. I don't like the seating, and being uncomfortable on a wooden bench for 45 minutes while I wait for food isn't my idea of...
Read moreMeh. $12 + $2 tip. Corned beef on rye with FF and a side salad. The salad was bagged salad, 2 single rings of raw purple onion, 2 small pieces of canned sliced boiled beet. There was a little browning on the bagged salad leaves. The lettuce on the sandwich was fresher. The sandwich consisted of very poor quality rye bread that barely passed for rye. 2 thin layers of corned beef, and one thin layer of fake swiss cheese. There were 0 holes in the swiss and when looked at obviously processed. The lettuce was very fresh. And the 3 half dollar sized slices of pickles on the side were awesome and super fresh. I still have a bit of a chemical after taste. I am not accustomed to processed foods. That said, if you have a lot of calories to blow for the day, the "Daily Dinner" looked kind of good but also heavy on the processed food. I did not notice anyone taking their left overs. They mostly just left it behind. If it was super good people would not be leaving it behind. Right? The place was really cool though. Everyone there must have been well over 60, except the staff. It has an awesome cozy feel to it. Perfect place for a pie slice and coffee on a snowy day. The pies looked awesome. The wait staff was average,...
Read moreI am not someone to leave reviews unless the service was outstanding or completely awful. This restaurant was one of the worst places I've been to. I have no compliments for this place, and we won't be returning. To start, the wait time for us was awful, for our menus, drinks, refills and anything extra we needed. The waitress was more interested grabbing her tip before serving us, we didn't even have menus. We watched numerous tables being helped a lot more frequent then we were, the waitress deliberately walked by without a word and we felt very neglected. I personally am native American and have been treated awful before, I mean it's 2025 why is this still happening? My husband saw one of the cooks use the restroom and return to cooking without washing his hands. They need better waitresses who knows how to do her job and treat every...
