I am the hostess at Sonny’s Kitchen. Ever so often I am sadly reminded that for reasons that cannot be explained, someone will offer a review that bears no truth in reality to describe a business or a restaurant. The damage done by people who purposely invent a bad review cannot be measured. This unfortunately is now the case with Sonny’s Kitchen.

I have had the privilege of working for the ownership since the first day it opened in October 2017. As the hostess, I am front and center to most all customer activity in the restaurant. I welcome and seat our customers, and if time allows, I love to chat for a moment. Our customers are unfailingly wonderful and friendly. Then at the end of their dining experience they come to my counter to check out and settle their bill. I take that moment each and every time to ask “How was everything today?” It is my job and it is important to me that each experience is a pleasure because I know It is the hallmark and high standards of the owner Sam, plus our staff, to take very seriously the dining experience of our customers. And I know this may seem extraordinary, but I can think of perhaps a handful of times that there was an issue. Each time it was immediately addressed and corrected to the customers satisfaction. I might add these issues were simple and easily resolved. I am very proud when I hear time and again “It was excellent”. “Awesome” “the best breakfast I’ve ever eaten out!” “I will only come here for fish fry!” On and on. We have served thousands of customers and are grateful for the many “Regulars” that share their breakfast, lunch and dinners with us week after week. We consider them our friends and family. That is the way it is at Sonny’s because of the hard work and thoughtfulness of Sam and Sonny, the owners. Plus they have assembled a dedicated staff that always strives to give the best possible dining experience. I would not hesitate to declare the meals at our restaurant the best in the area and beyond. So when the same person writes several repeat scathing reviews in different names while using the worst possible and childish terms and then cowardly refuses to even reveal themself, I must stand up for my bosses, for our staff and most importantly our customers. Thank you for reading this and don’t hesitate to visit us and enjoy a wonderful...

Venturing slightly off the beaten path from Madison on our way to the east coast proved to be a rewarding culinary detour with a stop at Sonny's for a late morning breakfast. Despite not being directly en route, the journey through local roads was well justified by the delightful experience that awaited.

At Sonny's, the breakfast offerings exceeded expectations. The Haystack Skillet, though not served in a traditional skillet, made a grand entrance in what can only be described as a "Jethro-Bodine-Sized-Cereal-Bowl". Layered with crispy hashbrowns at the base, crowned by half biscuits and two hearty sausage patties, all generously smothered in country gravy and topped with flawlessly poached eggs, it was a symphony of flavors and textures.

Meanwhile, the Eggs Benedict showcased the kitchen's mastery of the classics. A toasted English muffin provided the perfect foundation for two slices of savory Canadian bacon and two velvety poached eggs, draped and adorned with a decadent hollandaise sauce. Each bite was a harmonious blend of richness and freshness, a testament to Sonny's commitment to culinary excellence.

Contrary to the stereotype of a greasy spoon diner, Sonny's exuded an air of sophistication and modernity. The establishment was impeccably clean, with an ambiance that reflected its commitment to quality and hospitality. The friendly and attentive staff further enhanced the dining experience, ensuring that every guest felt welcomed and well-cared for.

In conclusion, Sonny's is more than just a pitstop along the road; it's a destination in itself for those seeking exceptional breakfast fare. With its stellar dishes, inviting atmosphere, and top-notch service, Sonny's comes highly recommended for anyone craving a memorable dining experience on...

Stopped here on a whim because something smelled good as we drove by. 630pm on a Friday night but they had immediate seating and service. Do not confuse the lack of customers for bad food. Beautiful space, large and open with pretty decor. Bathrooms and dining area very clean. Husband and I were greeted by super kind staff and made to feel welcome. We really wanted fish fry and they had it! I ordered the Walleye dinner ($10.99) and he got the Fish Combo ($14.95) which consisted of 1 piece of walleye, 1 piece of cod and 6 shrimp! Dinners also come with your choice of potato and soup, cole slaw or salad. I had the clam chowder which was quite good with big pieces of potato, carrot and celery. Also had several larger than normal pieces of clam. I felt it was a touch salty but hubby disagreed. Hubby had the chicken noodle soup and was very happy with the large chunks of carrot and celery and white meat chicken plus the pasta noodles which seemed almost handmade. Diner came out quickly and was immediately impressive. My walleye dinner had 3 - 8-10” long filets, lightly breaded and fried perfectly. My fries were hot and crispy. My fish was hot, flaky and not overcooked. The person in the kitchen is obviously more of a CHEF than a cook. The tartar sauce was sweet and creamy. Husbands fish portions were also large and shrimp were the typical 50 cent size. The server, Carrie, was very kind and attentive. Always willing to bring a bit more tartar or drink. Smiling the whole time. We will likely be frequent customers from now on. Please don’t change or go out of business. Sonnys is our new go to! Can’t wait to try the mouthwatering...

Maybe the best breakfast I've ever eaten. The girls and Lisa talked me into coming...as I'm not much of a breakfast person. I would be if I ate here every day. Our waitress was Wisconsin-wonderful. I should say Win-sconsin-wonderful. I had country fried chicken with 2 eggs sunny side up and a side each of hash browns and half order of biscuits with that sumthin'sumthin' sausage gravy. Yum. Lisa had a ham omelette, well done with hash browns and wheat toast. Bree had chicken and waffles with maple syrup, and Brynne-ie Boo had the strawberry waffles (of course) with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. If you're a breakfast buff...or you just simply breathe out of your nose and/or mouth holes...you should make the trip. DEFINITELY DEFINITELY DEFINITELY worth it.

Could have had the cardboard breakfast at our hotel. Pictures really get me going. Saw the mini waffles with cut fruit and it embedded into my brain. We checked out of our hotel and drove here. The closest table outside on the sidewalk was perfect for us. The slight breeze added to the effect. Yes the coffee was great slowly making us realize the weekend was winding down. The light breakfast hit the spot. A great experience of a really great weekend for to old seniors. We will be back to add to our constant memories.
