I really must admit I'm very sorry very sorry, to have to say these things. Traveling across this country a couple times I can say that I've eaten some absolutely wonderful food from wonderful cities this is a great country. Business took me up to South Salt Lake City. When the classes were over I did a little research on my tablet, to find out about local places. I was just looking for a burger and a beer nothing special. Many of the locals said Callie's was an excellent spot to eat. So I thought I'd give it a try. What an amazing mistake. My first impression when I walked in with this was a country / dive, emphasize more on the dive side. when I walk into a restaurant that serves burgers & beer and you sit down at the bar I do not expect to be told that you must go to the separate bar area in order to have a beer . oh that's right this is Utah. I cooked professionally for 25 years, and if you're really going to judge a place about it food, don't order specials order the main menu because if they can't get this right don't eat anything else. So I ordered just a cheeseburger with french fries. What eventually arrived almost 20 minutes later and being the only person in the bar at the time was disgrace full. The most god-awful looking hamburger a roll that looked like it was bought by the thousands from the local Costco, and french fries that were clearly hand-cut, not hot, barely warm and greasy. If it wasn't for the fact it was very late and I was hungry I would have tried to go somewhere else. So I choke down a few bites. Thank God for acid relief tablets. To my total amazement somebody came in and sat down next to me, order the same thing, and when it finally arrived, wolfed it down like it was filet mignon. Clearly, the people in this town don't have the first clue as to what at least decent food really is. As I drove around town I couldn't help but notice this town is nothing but chain food and I mean everything from pizzas to Tacos to burgers it is all chain food. Got to be fair, after this I decided not to try anything else as I would only be there 1 more day. Maybe and hopefully Beyond hope there are other places in this town that are actually edible and not chain stores. But, regretfully, you have been warned...
Read moreMy workplace orders from here all the time, but todays experience put a bad taste in all of our mouths.
We submitted an order through Doordash, like we have been for a while now, and when it arrived some food was missing. Stuff happens, no biggie, we called to get things figured out. First we were told that the food DID in fact show up because the person packed it themselves, but the box in question only had a side of toast. We were then told that they don't even work with Doordash, only for her to backtrack to 'we're trying to phase it out'. So we arrange for me to drive down and get it. A waitress approached (( i think her name was Tiffany?)) and asked if I was the one with missing food. I said i was, she passed me the bag, i thought we were good to go. She then proceeds to blame the door dasher for the mix up, tells me that they don't work with food delivery apps ((even though I ordered off of one)) and tells me to pass along a message that we ordered off of the wrong menu. No apologies for the confusion or delay, she just blamed me and then walked off before I could ask any questions.
At my previous job, we also had to work with delivery services such as Doordash. The apps were buggy as hell, they never reflected an accurate inventory, and not a single person on my team liked it. Things were ordered that we never carried, entire orders were lost, people were charged incorrectly, and everybody involved was frustrated with it. However, we ALSO acknowledged that it was not the customer's fault that the app was the way it was. Even though wasn’t out fault either, we would still apologize to customers because that's the nice thing to do. Did we commiserate with the customer about how awful the app is? Absolutely. Did we recommend other options? You bet. But we apologized anyway because that's what you do when you work customer service. The customer is not always right, in fact usually they're in the wrong, but that doesn't mean that you can be rude or disrespectful to them.
TL;DR If your system has issues, its YOUR responsibility, not...
Read moreMistreated, called names by Becky the manager and then harassed, provoked, heckled and threatened by Callie's self proclaimed attorney "Jack Howard"!
I ordered food to go today from callies as we have done dozens of times for our employees over the past 10 years or so. We typically order 8 to 15 breakfasts at least once a month, as always up for a garbage omlette and killer hashbrowns! I drove to callies and picked up my order from Cheyene, paid the $25. for two breakfasts, tossed a tipp in the tipp bucket and walked back toward my car. As I walked in front of my vehicle and the front of the building a parking sign hooked my shoulder and ripped my shirt, cutting my shoulder. I placed my food into the vehicle and walked back into the the restaurant asking for Callie concerning the poor placement of the sign and my new ripped shirt. Jess was very professional and walked out to see what I was talking about and stated she would have a manager or Callie call me....... Four hours later I called back and spoke to the self proclaimed manager Becky, I let her know what the call was in regards to and she quickly called me the f word and a few others and hung up. I called back and spoke with Adam, another self proclaimed manager and requested beckys name, letting him know i was going to post a bad review online and hung up the phone. 3 minutes later Jack Howard calls my cell that he got of the business id on Callies business line yelling in my ear "this is Jack howard, this is Jack Howard, This is Jack Howard, remember that name Mother &%^ I am callies attorney go ahead and post a bad review Mother *&%^ " I wont bore you with the rest, just know the conversation was extremely colorful, loud and over 4 minutes long and ended with Jack Howard " Callies self procliamed attorney" provoking me over and over to come over and fight.
Callie, I want a new shirt and an apology. You have my...
