We ate here before an event in the area; it was our second choice as the first dining option that night was take out only and we had traveled into town. Earlier in the day 4 of us had agreed to a couple dining options for the evening settling on Old Detroit Burger bar as our second option. The reviews made this place seem like somewhere we would enjoy.

It’s a standard bar, lots of tvs to watch and a full bar as well. We sat ourselves and were waited on quickly. We ordered and didn’t wait TOO long maybe 25 minutes or so. But wow was the food BAD!!

I got a slider basket which was just three sad overcooked meat hunks on dry buns with a pickle and some onion; the fries were good but cold. My sister and husband got the chicken tortilla soup (which is a regular menu item) and it was GOD awful. Worst attempt at a soup that is palatable at all! Both of them thought it was a chicken noodle base with uncooked vegetables added to it. It was inedible no one had more than a bite or two. My husband got the cod fish dinner which was coated with too much batter that in turn needed to be cooked way too long just to cook the fish inside and came out burnt and dry. This was the worst attempt at fried fish I’ve ever seen or tasted. The batter was so hard and crunchy and the fish inside was dry. His fries were also cold, no tarter sauce and his “coleslaw” was just cut up undressed cabbage. My mom got a burger and said it was OK but nothing to brag about. We ate what we did because we needed to eat before this event as we had planned to eat a full dinner prior to it so it was our only option.

Don’t know if they were having an off night in the kitchen or what.

The service was fine but the low rating comes from this. When our waitress asked about our meal we discussed what was disappointing about it and were told;

“I don’t cook the food I only serve it.” “I don’t know how to cook fish so I couldn’t tell it was over cooked”

Why would you say that? You still represent the same place where the food is being cooked…

She left didn’t say sorry or that she would give feed back to the kitchen But she did return letting us know our meal had been...

Never did I had a service like this before here and I went to this place before. Knowing it is Saturday and it will be crowded later we met our friends at 4pm. At this time the waitress had only 3 more table to serve and I'm sure she will remember us. We directly ordered our drinks, for me it was a coffee and a water. And the sticky coffee mug started a very poor service. Of course I asked for a clean mug, which I got without a apology but an attitude. I won't talk about the time it took for our order to come, or the jalapeño on my nachos (which asked to skip) ,but we complained directly about the cold cheese on top and asked for a reheat off it, only to have the waitress to start an argument with us was not acceptable. Dhe treated everyone at the table after this with the tiniest minimum off service. And we got told, that we can leave whenever we want, was disrespectful. We have to say thank you to the owner for setting the bill to zero$, but that was NOT what we asked for. This lady should have a serious talk with the manager about service and attitude to customers. Especially about the meaning of the phrases " Thank you" and "I'm sorry ". Cold food may not be your fault, but the servers are the point off contact for customer and can ruin a whole experience. Tried this place for the first time and was severely disappointed. We went about 1pm on a Monday waitress was nice enough but took her forever to come back and check on us took about 25 minutes to get a box and check. The food was just ok we started with the Mexican dip and chips the dip was terrible but the chips were good .so we asked for an additional side of Queso BLANCO she didn't even ask if we liked the app and then brought us a bowl of microwaved nacho cheese which is clearly not quest Blanco which was also as equally gross as the corn dip- we ate neither still no inquiry from the waitress as to why.. For entrees my husband got the quesadilla which he did enjoy I ordered the Gyro and fries- Now I have had hundreds of gyros from all over the world and I have never had one that I could properly fit in my mouth(Ya know what I mean) this one However was tiny like the size of a hotdog the fries were also a tiny portion which for me was fine but as my husband said if he would of ordered it he would of left hungry the gyro over all was ok meat had good flavor would of been better with more tomato and onion and sauce was super thick and came on the side would of been better on the sandwich where it belongs . Overall I would say we didn't order safe they are a "Burger" bar and maybe that's where they thrive but with so many other good options near the mall we will not probably...
