The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in Orion Charter Township

Absolutely HORRIBLE!! I am literally 5 min away from this location. I went in-store to place a catering order for the Thanksgiving day party at my job. I only went in-store because I wasn't able to apply my rewards online at the checkout. I was literally told by this location that the only way to place a catering order was online. That was a lie. While I was in the parking lot of the Lake Orion location, I called the Troy, location because I knew that didn't sound correct. I was informed by the Troy location that I can in fact place a catering order in-store. Needless to say I drove about 30 minutes to the Troy location, placed my order, and received EXCEPTIONAL service at the Troy Honey Baked Ham store!Lake Orion Honey Baked Ham store is disappointing and the employees lost a sale, from what would have been a repeat customer. I spent $300 last year on turkey and ham catering trays for our USPS Thanksgiving pot luck and was looking to spend money again for the same event. The store is very clean. Everything was neat, faced, and stocked. I loved that there was free samples of the chicken, ham, broccoli salad. Chicken was the best! There was a freezer/refridgerated section with all side items and desserts that could be bought. I was disappointed there was only pumpkin pie instead of sweet potatoe pie. I can’t wait to try the white bean soup and vanilla rum cake. This visit I had the Tavern Club (5/5). This was a delicious sandwich veggies were still crisp and fresh even though I ordered the sandwich hot. The brand of kettle chips was only ok. The sweet tea actually tasted decent. It was my first time here and I was disappointed with the service from the employees. Not everyone knows what you’re selling or how everything works, just explain how everything works and what you’re selling, obviously it’s not complicating, it’s just a little bit of service I’m asking for. And it wasn’t just me who received lousy service when I was there. The food was disgusting, from the sweet potatoes nasty texture, and foul taste/smell to the salty ham. It was just awful.
