There are not enough stars to rate this place. The food is absolutely superb. My wife and I were looking for a nice date night place, totally forgot that it was a Saturday night and looked up reviews for authentic Italian cuisine, my wife is Italian, from Sicily. Yall we were not disappointed. We walked in a little after 6 praying that they would be able to seat us. At first they said it was reservations only ans we could sit outside and I was kinda thinking 'eh not worth it' so we start to head out the door and just as we were about to close the door they said they did have a table. They sat us down and got us some sparkling water and that was when I realized how small it was. It only about 8 tables that can sit 4 and like 3 that can sit 2. That's it, so I highly suggest you get a reservation if you plan on coming in later than 6. Out waiter told us the specials and about how the restaurant is owned by an Italian couple and has been for 12 years. They both hail from Italy as well. He also said that the husband does all the cooking and that they make almost all the pasta from scratch. What! All the pasta no way. So we peruse the menu and my wife settled on the lemon butter chicken which is her favorite meal and, I wont make it I hate lemon, and I go for the filled cannelloni. Who doesnt love chees filled pasta and it came in the pink vodka sauce, legit my fav sauce. Our waiter then brings us some bread and olive oil and balsamic. It was pretty good, could use a little salt and pepper in the oil but that's just me and were not really here for the bread anyway. The food took less than 15 min to make it to our table. YALL, I practically had a mouth-gasm when I ate this. I legit said yumm while still chewing. It was some of the best Italian food I have had. My wife also got a side of the homemade spaghetti with the lemon butter sauce on it as well and I just had to try it. It is so damn good. I even liked the chicken, and I HATE lemon, how did they get me to like the chicken so much. We sat through the rest of our meal pretty much in silence because we were enjoying our food so much. After finishing our food the waiter brought us the dessert menu. Do not miss out on the dessert menu, find a way to save yourself some room. Of the like 6 to 7 think on the menu they only make 3 in house, the cannoli, the tiramisu and the panna cotta. The rest are all imported from Italy. My wife when gornthe tiramisu and I had to have the chocolate layer cake, I am a major chocoholic and cant pass up cake. We also got cappuccinos, they were awesome and they come with a little almond cookie on the side, which are also delicious. Now I hate tiramisu because I am a very textural person and I dont like the mushy ladyfingers but I took a bite of my wifes and it was so good, not mushy at all and so light. My chocolate cake was amazing, so decadent and creamy, I actually couldn't finish it all it was almost too rich for me. If you are looking for authentic Italian food come here. Its is a literal mom and pop run restaurant and mom actually walks around to greet everyone and is one of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure to speak with. I can not wait to come back and try something different. So...
Read moreOne of the very best meals my fiance and I have ever had. It was a beautiful experience in this terrific restaurant owned by a husband and wife. She runs the front of the house with an amazing smile and friendliness, and he cranks out amazing dish after dish as the chef. We started the meal with a perfect caprese salad with flavorful fresh basil and ripe tomatoes and a delicious fresh mozzarella. House made bread was perfect to dip into the tomatoey goodness left over. For our entrees, my fiance got the Bucatini Alla Maremma, and it was smokey, savory, peppery, and earthy with a lovely acidity. I had the Pappardelle Di Amalfi, which had a beautiful depth of flavor; the sauce was rich, creamy, sweet from the sun dried tomatoes and the kiss of brandy, earthy and fresh from the zucchini, and a delicious seafood flavor from the big, succulent shrimp. The pasta for every dish is homemade by the husband-chef, and they were both perfectly al dente and flavorful all on their own. We finished the meal with a delicious homemade tiramisu and a creamy and tart lemoncello flute. It was my fiance's birthday, and it couldn't have been more special. The service was also remarkable, assisting recommendations, giving us the background of the restaurant, attentive and kind. Just bang on, top to bottom. Thank you all for an amazing experience. We WILL be...
Read moreWhen you first walk in, it does seem a bit underwhelming. That worried me a bit. However, my experience there more than made up for it. When we first sat down, we were a bit thrown by one of the servers getting into a heated argument with one of the cooks right in front of us. That made me even more worried. However, literally everything after that was perfect. For instance, our server was amazing. She was so informative and attentive.
We ordered a bottle of reisling. We're used to sweet reds so we were pleasantly surprised by the great taste of the white.
Food: we ordered a Caesar salad to start. I usually need salt, pepper and extra dressing for my salad. However, I almost licked the plate it was so good. My husband even ate all of his and that's abnormal for him.
I ordered a chicken and mushroom dish. My husband ordered lamb chops. I always expect to need salt for my food when I eat out. Here, I think they'd probably be insulted if I asked for it. The food was so flavorful, cooked well and did I mention that it tasted good. The only thing we needed was a knife and fork.
Overall, I got the feeling that I was having a great Italian dinner at my Italian mother's house. It was warm, inviting and so darn good. The price is well worth...
