Southern Home Bakery — Restaurant in Orlando

After posting on social media that they had made cookies for the Taylor Swift concert, I asked if they would have "in store" to which they said "yes." So myself and friends went to pick them up. The very sweet cashier said that they didn't have them until possibly next week and that I could order them ahead of time. Since the concerts are this weekend, that didn't make sense. She also said that their cookie posts aren't available in store that they are mostly to generate interest on social media. If you like something you need to order ahead of time. She then said that they might have some tomorrow. Which confused me because originally it was "next week." I wanted to get a definite answer so the owner came out and when I questioned her about when/if they would be available she also stated it was mostly just for social media. I told her that we had been there before (about 8 months ago) and they didn't have ANY cookies in store and she said "this conversation is not productive." The cookies are absolutely BEAUTIFUL but they taste dry and are unflavorful. Unfortunately this small business just isn't interested in selling cookies or making them delicious, its just a cute...

My sister in law orders cookies from here and we first tried them a few years ago when we were in Orlando visiting for a birthday party. We live in New Jersey and haven’t found a cookie place in New Jersey or New York City that tops this cookie. The cookie is buttery, just the right amount of sweetness, perfect soft to firm ratio, and beautifully decorated for any theme. After we tried these cookies in Orlando we decided to order them for our son’s first birthday and we now order them for all birthdays. They ship them from Orlando to New Jersey and every cookie is intact. We’ve ordered at least 6 times now since we tried the cookies and they’re intact every time. They wrap each cookie in a bubble wrap sleeve then placed in a box, they apply more bubble wrap sheets to keep them in place, then the box or boxes are placed in a bigger box and surrounded by packing peanuts. Not just for the cookies they produce (they are amazing, just the right sweetness, never dry & absolutely beautiful every single time!!), but also for their customer service! Every employee in this bakery is kind, helpful & always attentive to details. They treat each order with the care & attention it deserves. I have ordered many, many cookies from SHB, both for local delivery, as well as shipping across the US & they have always arrived in perfect condition. The lucky recipients have always been impressed & so grateful for the gift that was sent. That polka dotted box arriving on a doorstep is sure to bring a smile to anyone's face!
