8/11/23: I actually enjoyed my first time visit at Hương Việt Vietnamese restaurant today. This restaurant currently has a soft opening. Customer service is very friendly and helpful.
Total cost: $33 including 20% tip
I ordered the following: Side order of Tàu Hủ Ky - ground shrimp wrapped in fried bean curd served with sweet and sour fish sauce, lettuce, and ground peanut
H4. Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang Khô - Potato Starch noodle Cambodian style served with prawn, Squid, xá xíu pork, and fresh herbs served with a side of hủ tiếu broth. I ordered the dry version and the sauce was slightly bland. The server came and gave me some extra sauce and that improved the taste and flavor immensely. So ask for extra sauce if you are ordering the dry hủ tiếu version of it’s bland for you. They used canned quail eggs in case there’s picky eaters like my kids who are used to eating fresh home raised quail eggs.
I asked to order a small order of their grilled pork. Before ordering, I asked to make sure of the texture is tender and moist or dry and burnt like some other places. Their grilled pork is very moist and tender indeed. I am glad I ordered a to-go portion for my kids. I recommend this.
Overall, I am happy with my meal and the items I ordered and will be back to try other items.
Note: They used stainless steel Asian soup spoons. For environmentalist, it’s a kudo. But as a parent of little foodies, I will have to make sure to bring the melamine soup spoons with me next time if I have my kids with me. The metal spoons are much hotter to the touch for...
Read moreVisiting this place was a nightmare, my family and I got here around dawn and there was a group of people walking around looking through people's car windows, we tried to park our car as close as possible. When we got to the entrance, a skinny old man was sitting at an outside table and was smoking while talking on the phone. My sister has asthma so the smoke and odor didnt help, the food was ok, there is nothing to be proud of. Once arriving home from this place, all four of us ran straight to the bathrooms, without pepto bismol, we would have to spend the entire night in there. After searching through Health Department, I found multiple sanitary violations and forced closure from the department. I told the market owner next door about my experience and he laughed and noticeably wasnt surprised, he whispered to my ear and said even he wouldnt go there for that...
Read moreAuthentic Vietnamese restaurant offering a diverse menu. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The pho broth was on point. I tried the fresh noodle which is great but you have to eat it right away or it'd be overcooked. Husband tried the vermicelli with all the grilled meats and he said it was all very good. The egg roll and the tofu skin wrap were perfectly fried. We ordered the beef wrapped in Bechtel leaves to share and it was the right decision. I haven't had beef roll liked that since leaving Little Saigon in CA. Both dipping sauces for the vermicelli and the beef roll were just right. I am used to a pho restaurant that serves pho, banh mi and vermicelli with grilled meat. Huong Viet's menu offers so much more; I have to come back to try the savory crepe and the crab noodle in...
