My boyfriend & I went for the first time on valentines day after lunch just for a quick dessert.. we kept seeing lots of people going in when we were eating in the restaurant next door so we went to see what the hype was about.. the inside is very modern and welcoming. The prices aren't to bad. Mg bf got the horchata drink..and I got the cookie monster sundae..it wasn't to bad..the horchata was a bit watery and the sundae was cute with toasted marshmallows on a stick.it was good but also something you could get at twistee treats for cheaper when you think about it ,but we wanted the experience of trying something there.we went again today and decided to get the lunch special garlic noodles and shrimp with another order of flamin hot cheetos cheese fries. We couldn't decide what drink so the lady asked one of the guys that makes the drinks what he recommends.. he listed a few pretty fast so my bf decided to try the peach blossom ..which I later found out was tea..it has a funny after taste ..a bit soapy or like essential oils..we didnt like it, but they were so nice and understanding about it and described some more options..I reccomend asking for a drink sample first. They are cool about that. I was happy with my strawberry limeade and they also said we could keep the passion tea. The fries were good just not enough cheese sauce on it. The shrimp was hard to eat seeing how the shell is still on it so It wasn't very appetizing.the garlic noodles had flavor just needed a bit more oomph. like more sauce..but I like the place..I'd keep going. Its definitely more presentation then about the food items..but I say give it a try and find what you like and it'll bring you...
Read moreThis was my first experience with this place and I let the gentleman behind the counter know it. He was not very helpful in making my choice as he offered no suggestions, nor asked me if I had any food allergies or explained the nature of the cuisine. I ended up choosing the Garlic noodles with Shrimp lunch with Peach Blossom tea and added an appetizer of a Classic Elotes. After 30 minutes of waiting for my food I asked why was it taking so long and the gentleman said he would check where it is, 5 minutes later they brought out my food. I informed the woman who appeared to be the manager that I had lost 35 minutes of my lunch hour waiting for my food, her response was "the food takes time to cook." I had to get back to work so I did not rebuttal. The food that I had to eat in my car in 5 minutes before I had to walk into the office: The garlic noodles were dry with no sauce, the shrimp still have their heads on and even though it does not bother me ordinarily I would not have picked it as I do not want to smell like garlic shrimp after peeling. The shrimp were dry (explains why my meal took so long). I have visited Mexico 5 times on different cruises and have had a passion for Elotes for a long time. My appetizer: (which can now be considered a side) these were straight jolly green giant nibblets from the can with a micro-dermal thin layer of pulverized cheese and no sauce... please do not call this Elote Zero Degrees, it is a disgrace. Paltry food and disgusting service all for the wonderful price of $16.51... I do not recommend this and advise to stay away... PS the peach blossom...
Read moreRecently visited this place as it went viral on Facebook. As a result, I Made plans to take my friend from out of state who was visiting. To spare you reading the rest, let’s just say it was a very UNDERWHELMING experience.
The nice thing about the place is that it was clean, they were not very busy and we were able to order our food as soon as we walked in. The order taker talks so quiet that it’s nearly impossible to hear what she’s saying. When you ask her to repeat herself, she speaks in the same monotone voice that you have to struggle to hear. eye-roll. Anyways, I order wings, fries, side of ranch and the Cookie Monster milkshake. The wings are good.... fries are equivalent to your steak and shake fries, and the ranch is veryyy “interesting” in taste, but still edible. The Cookie Monster milkshake was a joke. It literally was a dressed up icee, that tasted like watered down frozen milk. Smh - They advertise it as being “rich and creamy” but was literally the complete opposite - I tried to like it, but threw it in the trash. My friend ordered the Carne asada fries - and the taste of them is subjective, but neither of us liked it. The presentation of the wings and fries, etc was not reflective of photos that went viral online - it was just a very underwhelming experience. We both expected...
