So imagine you just landed in Orlando and are waiting to meet up with your friends after they get off work and are looking for a lil dessert snack for all of you to enjoy and you find this place on Google maps in the area and the pictures of the Kakigori look so cool and yummy. You head over there and it’s a super cute lil spot and the outdoor seating is so pretty with a nice big tree and cute lights and benches and you are thinking oh my gosh this is such a cute place to meet up with my friends! And once your friends get there you go in to order and the staff member is so nice! You get the Ichigo Matcha and then he says you can pick the bowl and they are so cute and look hand made and once you pick one the staff says in the softest and gentlest voice while making deep eye contact “I’ll meet you under the tree” and you know you’re gonna think about that moment for the rest of your life while this is prob just another Tuesday for this guy. ANYWAY you go back and sit down with your friends and retell this story (and bring it up everyday for the rest of the trip) and we sit under the tree catching up until he comes over with the dessert. In case you wanted to know, the dessert was soooooo good, light and not too sweet. He also gave us a tip to scoop up to make it easier to eat (so attentive). As we were eating and talking, it got a little chilly and he came over with hot barely tea (so considerate) and now you and your friends have completed a whole...
Read moreUtterly delicious. One customer/group at a time as the shop is VERY small. They have lovely hand made ceramics they normally serve the kakigori on, some super cute screen printed shirts and stickers, and a menu on the counter that is handwritten as they change it up regularly.
We asked for a fusion a little off menu as it was primarily for my 9 year old, taking the milk from a matcha milk combo and the strawberry from an ichigo matcha combo to have an ichigo milk kakigori. We also got some red bean jam on the side.
It was ready quickly, and very cute, but we were all excited to try it so I didn't make anyone wait for me to take a picture. I do not know how, but there were layers of flaky delicate snow like ice shavings with other tasty things interspersed, including home pipes and caramelized rice crisps, handmade mochi bites, fresh made strawberry jam and syrup, a sweetened milk syrup, and I'm not sure what all else but it was lovely.
Light and refreshing while also being enough for a still hungry 9 year old and three curious adults. Not a cheap dessert, but a sizeable and utterly delightful one.
Technically around 15 per kakigori, but...
Read moreThe shaved ice cream here is amazing—so soft and delicate it melts on its own. I had the matcha with strawberries and it was mind-blowingly good. Unique, refreshing, and absolutely worth coming back for. But the service really took away from the experience. When we got there, we told the guy at the counter how excited we were—it was our first time, and we were genuinely hyped to try it. But he didn’t say a word back, didn’t acknowledge it at all, and just made us feel kind of stupid for being so enthusiastic. No smile, no suggestion—nothing.
Then it started raining, and as soon as I stood up, a staff member immediately took the chair and put it away, without even waiting for us to leave or saying anything. It felt like they were rushing us out. Later, we noticed there was a covered seating area nearby, but no one told us we could finish our dessert there. A simple, “Hey, feel free to sit under the shelter,” would’ve made a big difference. The ice cream itself is easily 5 stars, but the service was cold and dismissive. I’d come back for the dessert, but I really hope they work on how they treat...
