You can get better espresso down the street at Haan…
At lineage, I ordered an extra Dry Cappuccino. Ideally that means there is more foam than milk, but it was basically a Latte in a mug. Which is whatever, I still drank it. The reason for the review is the overall taste of the espresso in the cappuccino. I know they use good beans but the shots must have died when they made my drink. Dont get me wrong, I crave a bitter espresso, but it tasted like coffee grounds and Milk.
The ambiance is cool; you knowstandard modern coffee shop with alot of people in the lobby. Very lively. The staff was alright, they seemed somewhat indifferent, which I dont mind cause we’re here for the coffee.
Ultimately, the drink wasn’t on par with other shops in the area. They also don’t have a cortado on the menu which I thought was interesting as well.
Oh and they kept their gallons of milk on the counter the entire hour I was there. This is a bad habit that baristas do so that they don’t bend down to grab the milk out of the fridge every time they get an order, and I’m guilty of this when I was a barista. However, I can only justify it when your drink orders are lined up back to back like a barista at a starbucks drive thru. If you’re at a bougie coffee shop with orders coming in every 3-5 minutes, where most people order oat milk and other substitutions, there is no need to keep the gallon of whole milk on the counter.
Overall, the place gave off an air of we’re good and we know it, so we don’t need to try.
My apologies for the frankness, but make some minor tweaks and this place would be awesome...
Read moreI usually come here for a quick coffee before work or errands, but most of the time it’s anything but quick. I understand how standing in line works, I’m not sure the staff does. More often than not, I’m stuck behind someone having a therapy session with the cashier before ordering, watching mid-transaction story breaks, or the cashier strolling away to keep chatting with a friend. I know it’s not always the staff starting these conversations, and I get that this is meant to be a social space, that’s fine. But holding up a line full of people for long personal chats is inconsiderate. And when it’s finally your turn, you’re met with silence, no greeting, no smile, no acknowledgment. It’s hard not to notice that certain customers get warmth and attention while others don’t. After enough visits, it feels less like a fluke and more like a deliberate choice. The staff clearly enjoy chatting with each other, which adds to the laid-back vibe, but they really don’t to be on their phones while pouring coffee or wandering around talking instead of making drinks. Coffee quality can be subjective, if it’s worth the frustration for you, go for it. I just can be leaving the place in an infuriating mood...
