Awesome new local bar in Thornton Park/Eola area!! It's on the bottom floor of the EO Inn, where Persimmon Hollow brewing used to be. Lots of great food, great drinks, and great vibes here! Lots of bar and table seating and a cute outside patio. They have a large drink selection including some yummy frozen drinks. Great espresso martini as well! Tried the corn dogs which come loaded with toppings. Great fries too!! Staff are super nice and the owner is too, you might even see him on your next visit because he’s such a celebrity! ;) Make sure to come checkout this new neighborhood gem!!

We were so excited to try this new spot and it did NOT disappoint! The food/drink and service were all great. And they've only been open for like two secs, which makes it even more impressive. I especially loved the deviled eggs, but the sweet potato fries were cooked perfectly, as was the fried chicken! Truly, everything was delicious. We can't wait to go back and continue working down the menu because so many things sounded good. So glad to have this new LGBTQ-friendly spot in such a great location, and I'm sure we'll be there often. Give them a try!

Got to attend a soft opening. The food is southern themed cuisine and delicious. Lots of comfort food options. The portions are huge. The space is like if a sports bar and boutique restaurant had a baby. The space has the best of both worlds: lots of well placed TVs and nice decor. The chairs are comfortable and nicely spaced. Looking forward to regularly frequenting this locally owned and operated business!

This review will probably be viewed as just another inconvenienced gay who got 2 olives instead of 3 in his martini, but it really is much more than that.

Granted this Pride weekend (Oct 2025) and perhaps tensions are high but it really gives no excuse for not being treated with a bit of customer-service oriented politeness.

I have been to the Outpost many times over. The food is good, the service is generally friendly, and the atmosphere is laid back. The gay neighborhood bar. Not today. We sat down at a table outside that was unoccupied. Some random person sitting on the wicker furniture (we assumed a manager or owner) came over and asked us if we were dining with them. We said, no, we’re just waiting for a server so we can have drinks. This person told us that no server would be over in this area. Okay! No problem! We’ll go to the bar and order and come back out right?!? Wrong.

I stood in line behind a non-server who got their drinks from the bartender I was about to address. The bartender, before I could say anything said, ā€œyou’ll have to go to one of the two other bartenders, I’m not taking orders here.ā€ Okay. Move down to the end of the bar to address one of the other bartenders. No one was standing in line, no servers were at the bar waiting for orders. The other bartender said, ā€œAre you wanting to order?ā€ Yes I acknowledged with a smile. ā€œWell you can’t order here. This is for servers only.ā€

ā€œSo she,ā€ and ai pointed to the other bartender. ā€œTold me to come down here and order from one of you. Where would you like me to order?ā€

She responded, ā€œCan’t you see all the bar seats are filled, where do you think you should order?ā€

Never mind. I don’t need attitude or a drink that bad. Just poor communication and customer service. Shame on...

Heard about this lgbtq owned property on instagram so decided to grab some drinks and dinner with a friend. It was a Thursday so we figured it would be more casual which it was. The first round of drinks came out quickly and our appetizers came out relevantly quickly as well. The whipped ricotta was good but needed something, possibly honey to add a sweet aspect. We decided to go with a veggie burger and the meatloaf. Our food arrived and my guest asked for some type of aĆÆoli/ mayo as the veggie burger was a bit bland. This is where things started to go downhill. Waiting waiting waiting, I noticed my meatloaf came in ball form, I cut into all of them and noticed they were not hot in the middle, not cold but more so if you heated it up and left it for 10 minutes type of warm. The mashed potatoes and carrots were good. 10 minutes later we remind our waiter of the mayo or aĆÆoli , to once again wait and wait. Until we grab another server to finally get this. I order another drink in which I see the bartenders laughing and interacting with other patrons and what appears to be an owner or manager as well. I am now waiting a good 10/15 minutes for my drink, mind you the majority of the evening there were more employees than customers. it appeared the server didn’t put it in the system. After all this let’s skip to trying to cash out. Getting our waiters attention was nearly impossible as it got busier. I even made eye contact with the manager or owner and asked for our check in which he completely ignored other me, maybe he didn’t see me?!

The atmosphere felt more bar than restaurant. I understand new places require an adjustment period but this seemed disorganized and...

I have been waiting for this place to open, and it did not disappoint! As expected great vibes, friendly service, and the food was incredible! I got the fish fry dinner it was perfectly seasoned, crispy, fresh, it was everything! I was so impressed! I always use hot sauce on my fried catfish, but it was so good there was no need for me to add anything to the dish. I also have to mention the hush puppies; they were the perfect balance of crispy, soft, savory, and sweet. I don’t even normally like hush puppies, but I would eat a basket of these! I had high expectations, but my expectations on the food were surpassed. My husband got a Big Back burger and it was delicious šŸ˜‹ and my bestie got a chicken sandwich, and it was big enough to feed 4 people. 10 out of 10. I can’t...
